a	andrea rebizzani (simplecom) on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ good gasthaus, easily reachable by 30mins walk leaving car starting the walkway. we eat and drink very well, sleeps super! breakfast good as well! stephan is a good entertainer and give you a big time in rastkogelhutte! thanks for the super dinner
D	D Hausman on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A typical Alpine club hut located in the Zillertal near the Rastkogel mountain. Good accommodation for hikers. Delicious food and drink. Great views all around.
S	SettiT on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hut was conveniently located a 1/2 hour walk from the toll road, 8€, parking. The hut itself was average & the surrounding trails/peak were v. nice but the +s ended there. The older people working at the hut were v. unfriendly, the food was sub-par, & overall was an expensive overnight. Not worth the effort in any sense.
M	Margot Van Cauwenberge on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed with a family of 4 persons and enjoyed the high quality and delicious food both for diner and breakfast. Host friendliness however could have been better, since there was some loud commotion with other guests about breakfast before 8:00 to avoid stormy weather in the afternoon, which got finally settled for 7:30. In the wonderfull Glüngezer hut, for instance, breakfast at 6:15 was proposed by the host himself. Also, it is a common practice to take carbage with you, except for toilet garbage ("Dahmenmüll') for ladies, but in this hut no wastebins were available in any of the toilets or bathroom. The hut is located near a road and there were cars at the property, so actually they can provide some service allowing you to lay of waste here which is often impossible in other huts... So good for food, but the host friendliness and service were below average.
H	Helga Frode on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great hut conviently located in the nature of the Zillertaler Alps. Really good dining and excellent selection of Gin and Whiskey. Hosts were kind all the time. The only shame have been some other guests who not only complained about paying for tee and water, but also left their garbage at the hut. Nobody needs those guys in our nature.

They're located fantastically and offer many options; you may drive fairly close up on the hill by car and have a nice little walk to the hut, or you may first walk to the hut, leave some heavy belongings there, and conquer one of the many mountain peaks that are well within striking distance from the hut! The food is great, staff are friendly, and they've always been very responsive to any inquiries I might have had before a visit (e.g. when asking about gluten-free food or anything else I've wanted to ask in advance).

So many hut rules, it's hard to keep track. - As you arrive, they start running a tab, but don't tell you how much ANYTHING is (obviously because it's all ridiculously overpriced). - You're not able to order what you want from the menu, they just serve you a three course meal you never asked for at dinner time. - They charge you €4 euro for a 5min shower (it was 4min only - I timed) - They claim you cannot drink the water and then charge you €1.50 for 1L of water - IN THE ALPS?! - You're not given the option of whether you want breakfast or not, they just add it to your tab without asking. - They conveniently forget that you pre-booked and paid a €10 deposit, so somehow it's part of your final bill again. Then after all of that, they demand you pay cash - what hospitality establishment in 2020 doesn't allow card payments?! After a tough year of Covid, where visitors are few and far between, I would expect to be treated much better as an extremely valuable guest. Considering you need my business more than ever. DONT rip me off. AVOID this hut.
