Kleines Lokal, der Chef kocht selbst, gutes Essen, auch täglich Menü, preiswert. Auch für kleinere Treffen oder Feste geeignet. Gemütlich und gute Bedienung.
Small restaurant, the chef cooks himself, good food, also daily menu, inexpensive. Also suitable for smaller meetings or celebrations. Cozy and good service.

2* Bier (Puntigamer) gut 4* Essen sehr gut 5* Preis-Leistung sehr gut 5* Fazit schwacher 4*. Jedoch, wer vorzügliche österr.-Wiener Küche ohne viel Schnickschnack essen will ist da sicher gut aufgehoben. Danke, ich gehe satt und zufrieden nach Hause, aber ich halte die Rindsroulade im Auge.
"Walter's Kitchen" On the recommendation, I go to "Walter" for dinner today. I've been there before, but only wine tasting with colleague Fritz M. Written outside - beef roulade, ...... made my decision, beef roulade. Unfortunately from: - ((, ... then it’s baked pork liver with potato salad. Quickly prepared, served and very good. The potato salad - the marinade a little weak, but nicely prepared. My review: Quaint, nice restaurant and cozy, if the ventilation in the kitchen would work 2 * Service (CHEF) good, if he didn't do the kitchen and service at the same time. 2 * Beer (Puntigamer) good 4 * Food very good 5 * Price-performance very good 5 * Conclusion weak 4 *. However, if you want to eat excellent Austrian-Viennese cuisine without a lot of frills, you are in good hands. Thanks, I'll go home full and satisfied, but I'll keep an eye on the beef roulade.

We stumbled into this place totally by chance while looking for a restaurant close to our Airbnb apartment. It was the evening of the Austrian presidential election, and apparently "Walters Kueche" was the meeting place of supporters of the loosing party. We later found out that the restaurant advertises non-smoking space, but on this evening it was smoke-filled everywhere. We stayed and eventually we even managed to place our orders. The food was a huge positive surprise. Our soups and the Wiener Schnitzel were excellent, as was the potato salad that came with the Schnitzel. Truly superb home-cooking. The motto written next to the entrance, claiming the owner is cooking himself is a serious quality promise. BTW: The prices are (almost) ridiculously low. The Schnitzel was EURO 8.90. I am looking forward to visiting the restaurant again and try the Tafelspitz. We can recommend the place to anybody who happens to be in the neighbourhood looking for good food in a pub-like athmosphere, and who is not too sensitive to smoking.

A typical Viennese "Gasthaus" in which traditional dishes and drinks are being served. Next to a menu there are also daily and seasonal dishes to choose from. Good for small groups, this place has several tables that could probably be joined for a larger group. Reservations are typically not needed. Although not always possible, the place advertises with "The owner cooks personally." A place for "homemade" dishes at reasonable prices, which also offers take-out.
