★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No pride or appreciation for good tea. Their menu only says "green tea", or "oolong", but you cannot choose WHICH green tea or oolong. They also don't give you recommendations or let you choose from a variety of options or tell you how the tea is going to taste. When I visit a tea house, I expect them to know about tea and give me basic information about the taste, region, season, etc. Prices are very high and refills (= plain hot water for a second brew) cost extra, even though it is just hot water. Cannot recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great tea house, perfect if you wanna relax and enjoy a quality cup of tea in Vienna city centre. The owner is really kind and happy to explain every detail of the tea before you choose the one you want to drink. We tried a white tea (moonlight) and a red tea, both great.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Probably the best tea room in Vienna for tea connoisseurs, at a great price to boot. The staff and the owner are knowledgeable and friendly, bonus point for the late closing hour (8pm).
There are also plenty of tea magazines (such as Eighty) to read from, as well as WiFi. They also serve a bit of food (quiche and snacks) if you're a little hungry.
Count 5-6€ for a teapot (best if you only want a single tea/are in a rush) and a 10€ fixed fee for Gong Fu Cha + 4€~ per tea (best to sample several teas/take it easy for one afternoon).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As a tea lover, I must admit it's very hard to find a decent tea house in Europe. Channagasse is one of those rare exceptions, an island within an ocean. The teahouse is unique in that in combines three key ingredients. It's very well located, within walking distance of anything in the city center. The staff, Sergey and his team, are amazing, providing a fabulous service paired with immense tea expertise. And lastly, the quality of their tea is superb. It's not easy to find such high quality pure tea anywhere in Europe. If you enjoy tea, want to get into tea, or are just looking for a peaceful place to relax and center your mind, Channagasse is a must go. Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip to Vienna! Rising cup to my brothers of the leaf!
