The breakfast is not worthy of a hotel, especially not at 100 euros a night per person! Queuing at a coffee machine.. three kinds of sausage, 2 kinds of cheese. some yoghurt and muesli that was it... and always the same for 7 days.the place Obertauern makes it possible..because the whole place is overpriced!

Historisches Gebäude, sehr netter Service. Essen trotz vieler negativer Bewertungen wirklich gut. Nicht weit vom Lift (5-6 Minuten) oder mit dem Skibus, Haltestelle gegenüber. Ein echter Tip in Obertauern.
Historical building, very nice service. Food really good despite many negative reviews. Not far from the lift (5-6 minutes) or with the ski bus, bus stop opposite. A real tip in Obertauern.

We had a fantastic stay at Tauernhaus Wisenegg. Everyone made us feel so welcome and accommodated. We are very appreciative of the assistance getting our car out of the snow on the last day. We highly recommend and will definitely be back some day. :)

On the bright side, the room was pretty decent (although not nearly up to the mark for the 100+ price tag). The heating functioned very much in a similar way to the metal stoves used in Nepal: you get all the heat you can take in the evening, and as the night progresses, you end up shivering in the cold by sunrise. I thought we were lucky, it should have been just a short, weekend stay. And that's not even the problem. The real problem I faced was the total lack of care about the customer (and the total focus on profit) that the staff so openly displayed: the stairs and entrances were persistently blocked with snow and these people hardly even bothered to clean them once a day or so. The access ramp to the parking lot just the same. First we were told to move our car because there were deliveries coming (even though the road was closed that day!). Then we asked how do we get out on checkout day. The answer was "I don't know". Then at the end of the day the same I-don't-know person announces with glee: "Ta-da, there was a convoy to get out and you missed it, now you have to stay longer". And then I realized where things were going, but sadly it was too late. It had all been just a scam to make us stay longer (obviously, not the road closure, but the slight "miscommunication" about the formation of the convoy). Aaaand the cherry on top came at check-out time, when the same price as for the weekend nights was asked for the two extra week nights we had to stay due to the unfortunate chain of events. When one is dealing with decent people, one would expect, if not even a discount, at least the fair price for the dates given, and not an overcharge. Yet, we had to have an argument about this and show the actual price on booking before getting a "fair" bill. I wish I could say "Thank you!" - but it's not the case. I wish I could say "Auf Wiedersehen!" - but since I don't really wish to see them ever again, I will just say "Good bye, and good riddance!" PS: There is one star for the location close to the ski lifts, otherwise this has been a miserable failure as my first ski trip to Austria. In the future I will keep focusing, as before, on alternative ski destinations, such as Georgia, Kyrghyzstan or maybe even Kashmir. The people's friendliness, the value for money and the feeling of adventure are surely worth going the extra mile, instead of paying the extra hundred(s).

Nice service people, rooms are big but the bathroom could be bigger. It's location is set directly at the beginning of Oberbayern and was good to reach. All in all a good hotel for a small Price.

Historical building with atmosphere. Clean room. Good location in relation to ski lift. Really poor breakfast. Fruit offered was rubbish. Terrible dinner. I canceled the remaining 2 dinners, but I have been still charged for. 1. The hotel is empty despite that Booking shows fully booked.
