Sehr sauberes, angenehm ruhiges Studentenheim bzw. Wohnmöglichkeit . Die einzelnen Räume könnten etwas größer, der Balkon jedoch kleiner sein. Beste öffentliche Verkehrsverbindungen und gute Nagversorger wie Billa.. Hofer... empfehlenswert ?
Very clean, pleasantly quiet dormitory or accommodation. The individual rooms could be a bit larger, but the balcony was smaller. Best public transport connections and good nag suppliers like Billa.. Hofer... recommended ?

Great, if you need a cheap place to stay in Vienna, this is it.

Friendly and professional staff, facilities are clean and tidy, close to tram, vet medina and groceries and tremendous good food to get in restaurant Magdalena/Freizeit at the ground floor.

It's Okey at best. The staff is very friendly and the facilitys are pretty good. The cleanliness is ok but I have seen cleaner places in my life. It is not cozy though, common spaces are just sterile and not very inviting. They should really do something about the internet, its just so bad.

I don't recommend Dückegasse 3, 1220 in Vienna. I was left on the street and without electricity in the same week and no of the situations were my fault. On the first situation, I did NOT forget my key, the door just was not working (electric door) and the "emergency number" person was rude to me and ended hanging up on me. After that I sent emails and the manager answered however, I was not there anymore since I was looking for a place to sleep and eat. (Note I didn't have my phone with me or money since I went just for a walk with my dog). On the day electricity day, they just would not pick up the phone. According to the manager in the building, they did nothing wrong, even though the door is their responsability, since this happened on a holiday, is just not their obligation to help me. She also told me that as a manager she cannot do anything about her staffs behaviour and that I need to be nicer. During this conversation I was kicked out of the office since I did not agree with her. I wanted to find a solution so this doesn't happen again to other people and she shut me down even when I ask for another meeting since she had conviniently "a lot of stuff to do". I tried to get another appoitment since I was unsatisfied and shocked about her rudness and she told me that will not happen. I am specially upset the way the staff treated me. Only one person, the junior manager, was helpful and acted like a real manager. She tried to help me find a solution and understoond the situation. Some of the staff in Dückegasse is rude and useless. All I wanted fot that conversation was an apology. Any manager should know that an apology can solve so many problems. I am looking how to make a formal complaint with Stuwo and if I don't get the proper answer from the organisation I will take it even further.

I have lived at this dormitory from February 2020 to June 2020. The rooms and dorm accommodation has been alright, and its been nice to have a training studio available so close. But there are many things to nitpick on, plus in my last month I had a very bad experience which has left a sour taste in my mouth. Location 4/5: - The location of this dorm has been perfect for me. It is close to the Donau Center which enables shopping. And is right between U6 Floridsdorf and U1 Kagran, which lets you get anywhere within Vienna. - It is also not too urban, meaning the area isn't too busy. However, there is a lot of traffic outside. - The view from the kitchen window is also really nice! Accommodation 3/5: - I lived in a category B room on the 5th floor, which entails that I share bathroom and shower with another person. My roommate has been nice to no issues there. There is also weekly cleaning which is nice. The mattress in my bed was awfully soft though. - - Note: There is no ventilation system in the rooms, so you need to keep your windows open to get fresh air. Which will be very noisy, either that you hear traffic, or babies crying from the other buildings. - The kitchens are quite awful. I shared 1 medium-sized kitchen with 22 other inhabitants. The kitchen's are cleaned by cleaning personal every workday, but the inhabitants can't seem to bother to clean up after themselves, so it is always filthy. There is no equipment or cutlery which means you have to provide that yourself. Additionally, I have experienced thefts even though there are locks on the freezers. Simply, making food here is not enjoyable. Services 3/5: - I got to use the sauna once before COVID shut everything down, it was alright. - The training studio lacks a lot of equipment. I think this is due to theft. Though it is still fine for working out. - There are two sound-isolated music rooms which have been nice for assignments requiring audio. - I found the laundromat rather expensive. It costs 1.5€ per use of a washing machine or dryer. You need to have a NFC card to use this, which I have had a few problems with since my bankcard isn't Austrian. Google Pay does not work. - Even though we have a bicycle garage I used my room to store my bike instead. I talked with some of the inhabitants and they informed me that storing a bike there is a bad idea, since there had been several thefts. - There was many internet issues during my first month here. But it was resolved and has been problem-free since. Management 1/5: - The management is polite and will help you with basic problems. But seem hesitant to solve certain issues, and I would not trust them for important things. - My last month here has been bad. At the end of May I heard rumors from some of the people here that they had to move floors due to construction. I checked my postbox and e-mail daily, and had not heard anything about this. On June 9th I went to the reception and asked about these rumors. I was later that day told that I had to move out to a different address by the 19th. I had to ask them about this, and then I only got a 10 day notice, and from what I understand from Austrian law, the tenant must notify within 1 month, additionally this breaks the written agreement that I had with STUWO. This is embarrassing, since I ordered my plane-ticket home at the end of May, for the 26th of June. If they had notified me in time I would ordered for an earlier date. I made a formal complaint and got a new room in the 3rd floor, which I took and thought would be ok for the remainder of my stay. However, the room I got is right by where they are constructing outside (I don't know if this is malicious compliance or not). I have been waken up every day at 06.45-07.00 by construction vehicles, banging, cutting metal and crew outside my window. This noise has lasted until 15:00-16:00 every day. It has been awful to study and to do exams with all this noise, and I am certain this has affected my grades. Conclusion: - Questionable inhabitants, unprofessional management, good location.

BAD EXPERIENCE! It was a really bad experience staying for almost 4 month in such an old, not clean and dead environment. The ventilation of the kitchen was horrible and no matter at which hour you go there it stank. Spider nets, dried and dead plants, old furnitures, and a gym which was just named gym by couple of machines! Yes , you can have your pet there and you will be extra charged monthly for that , but the room is not pet friendly, the windows without net , and the cleaning staff are not trained, then we had to satay in room or put the pet in cage to have cleaning service that we had been charged for. The room was not clean when we start living there but they charged us 450 euros for cleaning and painting the wall and one month after we moved out we got an email that the stove is broken and they charge us for that too!!! The bathroom did not have any window or ventilation machine. At the end the manager of the building could not be more unfriendly.

I lived there around five month in later part of 2021. This is a below normal dorm. Particularly when you compare it with other stuwo's in Vienna which i believe is due to poor management of Dückegasse branch. The building is not clean and you can find dogs feces all over the place ( do not trust on the pictures of their website!). They accept pets, but it is not animal friendly at all. Particularly for cats. They have three wash machines and driers for around 80 rooms which is usually out of order: Also they will charge you for cleaning and painting wall no matter what. I also asked different former residents who had the same issue. So don't count on your deposit after evacuation. All in all you can easily find cheaper place with really high quality in Vienna.
