★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wunderschöne Kirche fast direkt am Ufer des Ossiacher Sees mit einem ebenso schönen, kleinen Friedhof. Ein Besuch lohnt sich unbedingt.
Wonderful church almost directly on the banks of the Ossiacher See with an equally beautiful, small cemetery. A visit is definitely worth it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ De eenvoud van deze kerk aan de buitenkant, wordt overspoeld door het blinkende beeld binnenin. Dit verwacht je echt niet,...allemaal prachtige muur- en plafondschilderingen, het barokke hoogaltaar, preekstoel, doopkapel en ga zo maar door. En het is overweldigend, niet overdadig, maar toch mooi.
The simplicity of this church on the outside is overwhelmed by the shiny image inside. You really don't expect this, ... all beautiful wall and ceiling paintings, the baroque high altar, pulpit, baptistery and so on. And it is overwhelming, not excessive, but still beautiful.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ossiach, lago e dintorni a parte, offre poco e tra le sue pochissime attrazioni ci sono la chiesa dell’Assunzione (Himmelfahrt) di concezione romanica, ma ricostruita in stile gotico dopo un incendio verificatosi nel XV secolo e poi completata con gusto barocco.
Pregevole l’interno a tre navate che conserva qualche elemento romanico e bei finestroni gotici che ne esaltano le dimensioni abbastanza significative per essere una piccola chiesa, ma soprattutto sono da ammirare gli splendidi soffitti a volta con decorazioni in oro dal sapore barocco.
Da visitare …magari mentre siete in attesa di imbarcarvi sul traghetto per il vostro giro sul lago!
Ossiach, lake and surroundings aside, offers little and among its very few attractions there are the Romanesque church of the Assumption (Himmelfahrt), but rebuilt in Gothic style after a fire in the fifteenth century and then completed with Baroque taste.
The interior with three naves which retains some Romanesque elements and beautiful Gothic windows that enhance the size of the church is significant enough to be a small church, but above all the splendid vaulted ceilings with gold decorations with a Baroque flavor are to be admired.
To visit ... maybe while you are waiting to board the ferry for your ride on the lake!
