Ossiach Abbey is always worth a flight to Azs. Very well restored former monastery and collegiate church. Great lines of sight to the lake.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eine sehr schöne Stiftsanlage, mit einer schönen Kirche. Die Anlagw, in der auch ein Hotel mit Restaurant untergebracht ist wurde sehr schön und stilvoll restauriert. Ein Besuch ist zu empfehlen.
Konnten leider die Kirche nicht besichtigen (Gebetsstunde). Auch der alte Friedhof auf der Rückseite ist sehenswert.
A very beautiful monastery complex with a beautiful church. The facility, which also houses a hotel with a restaurant, has been beautifully and stylishly restored. A visit is recommended.
Unfortunately we couldn't visit the church (prayer hour). The old cemetery at the back is also worth seeing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At the bank of the Ossiacher See, below the marvellous peaks of Carinthian Alps. Getting to Ossiach is a enchanting experience of its own. The church in Ossiach is a monument to both medieval Order of Saint Benedict and the baroque art. Apart from stucco sculptures and frescoes there is a gothic chapel and a mysterious grave, according to local legend one of the third Polish king, Boleslaus II.
The church is easily accessible and open daily without any entrance fee, although modest donations are always welcome.
