★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just make sure you have a lawyer representing you before renting a car from Sixt.
They will give you a damaged car and then charge you for that.
Additionally the employee will try to prevent you from checking the car.
Good luck

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ 4 days after I returned the the Van I had rented from Sixt in Kagran I received a request to pay 450 euro for this damage that they claim that I caused. The tyres on the Van are winter tyres and this is something that someone couldn't cause on purpose. I got scammed from these people, don't hear their employee and please check everything on the car. I was trying to take photos of the car and the employee kept insisting that only there is any serious incident there will be an issue.
+Additionally someone by the name Martin from their Customer service department told me that here is Germany and you should speak German (Is this really customer Service in a developed country?)
+Additionally I called the consumer's protection organization and they told me that there are many similar incidents with this company
Please be careful with those people!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A way too late check on Trustpilot showed me and my friends that you should never use Sixt unless you are fine paying overprice for suspicious damages. We were charged 840 Euro for a scratch on the windscreen that we did not recognise from when returned the car. What is more, the damage claim came multiple days after we had received an invoice of succesful return of the car. We questioned the claim, asking for proof that the car had not been rented out after we returned it, along with a damage estimate and pictures of the damage. It looks many rounds of emails to get even get some pictures. Pictures which conveniently did not have a timestamp. Furthermore, after out initial questioning, they simply stopped replying to our mails for several weeks, until they sent us another bill of 858 EUR because we had not paid in time.
We ended up paying to just end this. Although we never got any pictures with timestamps, nor any internal policy documentation to support their claim that it is normal that they send invoices first and then wait multiple days with sending damage claims.
Never again will we use Sixt! And we will be very sure to tell everyone we know to stay clear.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Experience is quite modern, and confusing at first. The process was not really well explained by customer service. They didn’t really seem that attentive, as with other branches and car hire companies I’ve been too. Car I required was unavailable, but was offered an alternative at no additional cost or and upgrade.
I was happy with the car hired, but trying to inspect the car in the underground for damage, on a black car is quite hard. You are not given any sheet that marks the damages, just written somewhere on your 1 metre long receipt.
Handing the car back again was a little confusing, as there were two signs ‘car return’ and ‘drop off with an arrow forwards’. I am not sure if I parked the car in the right place, as there was no attendant. But it worked out.
I took the key back to Sixt reception. What I do not like is there is no receipt of hand over of the key. I cannot remember the staff being dress in Sixt car logo.
There was no investigation of the car in my presence. There was no problem with the car, but this leaves no opportunity to argue anything that could happen post you dropping off the car.
I took pictures all round to be sure.
The car we hired was in very good condition, and was a good quality car.
I would hire again from Sixt. But I would be very sure to recommend you full inspect closely the car, report any damages immediately and take pictures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were told bu their staff we could pay a relocation fee to drop our rental van in Krawkow Poland. We were there to help with Ukraine refugees. After coordinating all other travel itinerary logistics we called back to confirm and the next person would not allow the change and hung up the phone. We tried called 5 additional times and for the run around. We’ll never use them again. Utility indroce the van back to Vienna as planned and then the van in. And missed out on what would have been 5 additional days service to the refugees. Even if policy was in place the original employee should have knows that so we would be educated correctly and planned accordingly. And that fact that didn’t hallen it would be reasonable to make a reasonable accommodation.
