To give a brief snapshot of my hire experience, here is the conversation with the lady at the desk:
"You have a VW golf, will that be OK?"
"Does it have 5 doors?"
"Yes it does, but how many people are you travelling with?"
"There are 5 of us"
She looks at the computer... "This will not do... OK, if you are sure to bring it back before 0800 on Monday, there is a bigger car available"
"Fantastic, thank you! How much extra do I need to pay?"
"Nothing, it is free!"
I have a lovely, big car for no extra cost and dropping the keys off was very quick and simple. Thanks Sixt for a good weekend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Asked for the cheapest rental and was offered an Audi A4 for 550 Euro for 3 days. I declined and went by cab. I checked on the app for prices in the cab later on and saw an opel astra for 150, which had been fine.
I don’t understand sixt‘s pricing strategy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A little on the expensive side. The rental and return process was easy to manage. Was able to book on the last day too. The car was very well maintained and we had no issues in insurance/return/deposit refund process too.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The car booked not matching the same category, then I was tired and accepted the available car, but after checking the car was not meeting my needs, I personally saw similar car category in the parking then with great difficulty change the car .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Car given came with 12 contractual recorded damages ( dends / scratches ) all over . The same caused embarrassing situations while using 5 Star Hotel parking services and laughter by family members and friends. However, shortly after returning the vehicle I received an email from SIXT with photographs of these old damage for further investigation with a 14-day deadline to respond! My experience of the SIXT vehicle condition and after service in Salzburg Airport was unpleasant and disappointing.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice people at the desk. However was charged for a whole extra day after handing in keys 30 mins late (despite being in car park on time). There was no explanation of this and I only noticed this on the invoice when I looked. When questioned they said that it's in their T&C's that they charge an extra day on late returns. Fair enough it's in your T&C's but feels like profiteering off customers to me - clearly no extra cost to company of when we returned our car!
