Alot of family history, fashion and armor. Our family enjoyed the schloss. We were there for well over 2 hours and didn't see everything.

It is a castle located on a hill with parks surrounding the castle. It would take you about 15 minutes to walk from the bus stop at Luigenstrasse (last stop) to reach the museum. At the museum, you can get your entrance ticket. While we were there, there were medieval exhibitions. It was a great collections of item. After the museum, we went over to the castle to get a tour around the state rooms. Do beware of the peacocks roaming around the castle as they could be easily agitated when you try to go near to them. If you are taking the public transport, do be aware of the bus timetable, which runs at every 50mins. It would take you about 20mins from the bus stop to reach the city center in Innsbruck.

This has to be one of the most underrated attraction in Innsbruck. It is claimed to be the oldest museum in the world with the fortress at Ambras was turned into a Renaissance castle by Ferdinand 2, housing his collection. It was a gift to his wife. I absolutely loved this one, the castle, the gardens, the huge museum with such varied collection. The Armoury is impressive including the Armour of a dwarf and of a giant. You can easily spend half a day here. But If I have to tell 5 must see things in castle museum, it would be - 1. The Armoury 2. The chamber of Arts and wonders 3. Spanish Hall 4. Chaple of St. Nicholas 5. Strasser collection of Glass DO NOT MISS THIS GEM !!

Really cool castle and museum with a lot of different artwork and historical memorabilia. Lots of detailed information, in multiple languages. There's something for everyone-armor, artwork, historical photos, and a really cool "Chamber of Curiosities" which had all sorts of wild, random pieces, including stuffed sharks and other odd things from the era!
