★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just outside the church at Minoritenplatz, you can see a monument of landscape and architectural painter Rudolf von Alt (1812-1905).
This statue was designed by Austrian Sculptor Hans Scherpe in 1912. It is made of stone and is of an elderly Rudolf von Alt. He is robed, seated upon what appears to be a large rock with a portfolio in his hand and lap. The statue is atop a small block with the carving of the 19th-century artist's name.
In the end, it is a simple and decent statue to see while sightseeing around Vienna. Worth seeking out if you are a particular fan of the artist or if you plan on visiting Minoritenkirche during your time in Vienna
