A leisurely walk from the district heating plant in Warmbad along the Dammwildgehege to the origin of a small stream. Especially in the summer pleasantly cool and a beautiful nature playground with children

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ All roads lead to Rome ... this old saw is real upto the current time. In the forests and the city of Villach you can see it still in reality! There are walkways you can see the lane made by hundreds of years by horses and carts, their wooden weeks made deep cuts in the stones, they called Römerstraße, streets of Romans, indeed. But it's not like regular street or a common highway like you know today. No it's a hard path of walkways up and down, following the landscape and the easiest way trough the mountains. For this you will be a little bit disillusioning, if you imagine the Roman Empire as a worldwide institution ... and than they were no enable to build better streets? Maybe the land of the barbarian Germans was not so important, the goods they trade were just bad beer and some wood or stone? Nobody knows. But imagine the hundreds of passing horses and carts, they need water for drinking ... so this an really century-old well! And the water is still very clean, very fresh and give it to you and your dog too. Stay there for a while and think about the great history and the repeat of the history, maybe the fall of the European Empire now, done by the Arabic spring movment and the overrun of ... you know! This is a very interesting place for histroy.
