Der Marillenkuchen war sehr lecker, der Tisch an dem wir saßen soll 400 Jahre alt gewesen sein. Darauf haben sich Generationen mit Messer- Kritzeleien verewigt. Ich habe die Jahreszahl 1608 gefunden. Ob es tatsächlich so alt war weis ich nicht, aber das Ambiente gibt es glaubhaft her. Die Wirtin war total nett- ich schäme mich ein wenig, weil ich erst zum Schluss davon schreibe-entschuldigen Sie bitte. I had never seen such an old mountain hut before. With a museum part in the form of 2 originally preserved rooms. The apricot cake was very tasty, the table we sat at is said to have been 400 years old. Generations have immortalized themselves on it with knife scribbles. I found the year 1608. I don't know whether it was really that old, but the ambience is believable. The landlady was really nice - I'm a little ashamed because I only write about it at the end - please excuse me.

M	Maik Franke on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hi @ll das Tauernhaus habe ich per MTB erreicht und kann es schon empfehlen auch wenn es "nur" ein kurze Fahrt ist bei knapp 10 km von einem Parkplatz kurz hinter dem Landgasthof Weixen. Trotzdem ein schönes Tal und zum wandern für jederman ideal. Das Tauernhaus selbst ist sehr schön gelegen und von dort kann man in 3 Stunden die Großglockner Hochalpenstrasse in der Nähe des Hochtors erreichen wobei man auf dem Weg noch an der Litzelhofalm vorbei kommt. Also ein gelungener Tag mit weiteren Aussichten für weitrführende Wanderungen. Essen,Trinken, Freundlichkeit und Preis - Leistung top. Sehr empfehlenswert und ich komme wieder :-) Hi @ll I reached the Tauernhaus by MTB and can recommend it even if it is "only" a short drive at about 10 km from a parking lot just behind the Landgasthof Weixen. Still a beautiful valley and ideal for hiking for everyone. The Tauernhaus itself is very nicely located and from there you can reach the Großglockner High Alpine Road near the Hochtor in 3 hours, passing the Litzelhofalm on the way. So a successful day with further prospects for long hikes. Food, drink, friendliness and price-performance top. Highly recommended and I'll be back :-)
T	Thorsten Buschmann on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ein sehr gemütliches, altes und uriges Haus mit einer über 400 jährigen Geschichte. Die Bedienung/ Eigentümer waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wie bei all den anderen Almen auch, war auch hier der Weg, das Ziel. Eine Atemberaubende Landschaften von etwas 7 Km vom Parkplatz bis zur Hütte. Ein toller "Bachlauf" mit vielen Wasserfällen. Der Weg ist auch Kinderwagen geeignet. Wieder Mal ein toller Ausflug A very cozy, old and rustic house with over 400 years of history. The waitress / owner were very friendly and helpful. As with all the other alpine pastures, here too was the way, the goal. A breathtaking landscape of about 7 km from the parking lot to the hut. A great "stream" with many waterfalls. The path is also suitable for prams. Another great trip

From here on you can follow the trail to reach the Litzlhofalm (45 minutes) or Hochtor (2.5-3 hours). Very friendly staff and excellent service. The "Kuchen" we ordered were delicious.Well worth a stop.
