★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only star goes to the view. Food was average. Service was rushed. When paying, the tall bald waiter tried to add EUR 10 to our bill. Lucky I asked him to print the receipt then it shows EUR 10 less. Nice try but you just ruined your restaurant’s reputation.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So very nice! We dined outside got a late lunch. The view is spectacular, with the start of the alps clearly visible on one side, fortress walls towering above on the other. We had Wiener schnitzel, salad with potato pockets, Weiss bier (wheat beer), and strawberry dumplings. All excellent! Friendly, helpful service, highly recommend!

But unhappy with the service. We ordered regular cake piece and the waiter misunderstood and brought us Salzburger Nockerl instead. The order of serving was also wrong. The standard is you have both cake and coffee together, but they said that there was something wrong with the "cake" (Salzburger Nockerl it appeared to be) and so we have to wait 15-20 minutes. Then they suddenly served coffee, and after 20 minutes of that we were served the unwanted Salzburger Nockerl.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is more than just a restaurant, this is a place to enjoy the breathtaking view of the alps surrounding Salzburg while enjoying a glühwein or any other preferred drink. Do not miss this place if you're visiting the fortress in Salzburg. The best strategy is to be there before sunset and plan to stay for some time to see the view in day, golden hour (during sunset) and the evening.
