K	KSSW KSSW on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This was an awesome place to visit and you’ll never see a better view of Salzburg (and Austria) from the top of the fortress. We took the tram up - which was difficult to find (look for the “FestungsBahn”) - but it saved a lot of vertical steps. Once up there, make sure to get to the highest turret. It’s not to be missed (a lot of stairs but worth it). We spent a lot of time walking around and reading the history. There is also a “History of Marionette Puppets” which could have been better but still interesting.
M	Mike on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Visiting Salzburg and not coming up to the fort is a crime. We used the Salzburg card that includes the funicular for ascent and descent. The fort itself is well looked-after, it offers unparalleled 360-degree views in and around Salzburg and has quite a bit of history attached. The person who was sitting at the welcome desk of the marionette museum was quite rude with us.

Amazing small and interactive museum. There is a restaurant up there for warm and cold food and drinks. There are multiple WC available. A great place for photography.
D	Darwin Gonzalez on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is an amazing place to visit located in the city centre if Salzburg. You can reach at the top by taking the train all the way up or walking it. I would recommend walking up as you will enjoy the views. I definitely recommend visiting this place and definitely it is worth.
T	Tony Sadlon on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a MUST see in Salzburg. I know that many places offer tours that sounds amazing, and are advertised well. This one is definitely 100% worth the visit. The views are breathtaking, they have a bar and cafe up top with a beautiful view, and the museum has some interesting things. Be advised, ticket purchases can be a little confusing. If you get the “Pathway” ticket, it only includes a tram ride down the hill, you will have to walk up the hill. It’s a pretty steep walk, so if you aren’t ready for some stair stepping exercise you might want to pay for the tram both ways. My only suggestions would be to better label exits and where each exhibit is, it was hard to find. I would also suggest being more clear about the tram tickets on the website. I thought I bought a ticket for both ways, but was told I did not. Those are minor complaints for this AMAZING visit.
I	Igor Levin on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful panoramic views! Worth a little effort to walk uphill instead of taking funicular. There are checkpoints at the Museum and panoramic tour starting points, so you can pay there for entrance if you don't have all inclusive ticket.
N	N S on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We visited this place on a Tuesday morning. We took the bahn to reach the fort. The entry was free because we had Salzburg card. It was not crowded in the morning, with time there was lot of people. It was an interesting place and has a great view of the city. The staff inside the place were very helpful and guided us well and also made us register for contract tracing. There is also washroom in the place which is well maintained. I would definitely recommend visiting this place.

We bought the €13 basic ticket which was good value. It gives you return trip on the funicular railway as well as entry into most of the small museums. Museums were wonderful lots of interactive exhibits and easy to understand explanations. Great for kids and adults alike. A must visit when in Salzburg.
