Dort hieß es bei geschichtsträchtigen Schulveranstaltungen ab der Volksschule, aber auch von universitär ausgebildeter Seite von Geschichtsprofessoren in der AHS dann stets: "Das war der letzte Türk der uns belagert hat. Den habens dann auch erwischt und ausn Fenster geworfn". Leider stellte sich diese Überlieferung als Unfug heraus. Daher wäre es sinnvoll, diese "Sagen" zumindest direkt unter der Figur mit einer Informationstafel richtig zu stellen. Lástima que no se visita por dentro. Pero tiene una portada renacentista muy interesante. Está junto al largo túnel iluminado que atraviesa por debajo el montículo del Castillo, y que lleva hasta la "Escalera de los rusos". Vale la pena atravesarlo para ver la red de túneles construídos por las tropas de Napoleón y por los nazis (6 kilometros). The great Palais Saurau in Graz (Austria), built by an important merchant in the 17th century, is located at the foot of the Castle of Graz. Too bad it is not visited inside. Sie erinnert an die Belagerung der Stadt durch die Osmanen im Jahre 1532. Mit ihr verbunden ist auch eine Sage, nach der der Besatzer Ibrahim "Bassa" gesagt haben soll: „Wenn ich diesen heißen Ofen (Festung) nicht haben kann, mag ich auch die kalte Stube (Stadt) nicht.“ als eine Kanonenkugel seinen Braten traf. Dies wird allerdings mehrere hundert Jahre später erstmals erwähnt und ist daher nur als Sage bekannt. Schade ist es, dass unten in der Gasse nichts auf die Figur hinweist. Schon wäre auch eine kleine Informationstafel, die den Hintergrund ein wenig erklärt. So schätze ich, wird die Figur von den meisten leider kaum bis gar nicht wahrgenommen. Daher auch nur 3 Sterne. An interesting detail is the Turkish figure, which looks very small and almost inconspicuous high up on the house. It is reminiscent of the siege of the city by the Ottomans in 1532.
