minus plus - Less is More - Kirchengasse 22

I loved everything about my visit to the minusplus hair salon. My stylist listened carefully to what I wanted and made it work wonderfully for the kind of hair that I have. Then, while having my hair washed, I received the best head massage I have ever had! Plus, I have to mention how nice their organic hair products are. The whole cut and blow-dry took less than an hour and I actually got stopped in the street outside by someone to tell me how much they liked my haircut!

I have curly hair and those who do will know that it should be cut dry. The hairdresser was the most expensive that could be booked on the website (called an art director). I asked him to give me soft transitional layers and to remove the bulk and frizz in the back of my hair. He cut my hair wet and gave me two distinct layers in my hair which look completely separate from each other. The website said it would cost 50 euros, but at the end of the appointment I was told that I had to pay 80 euros. The salon smells like ammonia to the point where it is irritating to your lungs because there is no proper ventilation. The floor of the salon is not swept properly so there is hair all over. Even though the staff were very kind and attentive, the service and the salon were at a quality much lower than what you pay for.

The best hair salon in town without a doubt. I have been known to drive 5 hours for a good hair stylist, and I would do the same for Borko at Kirchengasse. He always makes me and my hair happy. And luckily for me, I only live a short walk away...

Best hair salon in town. I went to Bianca and she did an amazing job. I’ve been to many hair salons in Vienna and no one puts in nearly as much time and effort. Highly recommended!

Do you know this feeling when after a long journey you finally arrive at home? This is how I truly felt like after years of desperate search for "my" hairdresser. I tried various salons in Vienna, but Minus Plus excelled in all categories (professionalism, client orientation, ambiance, quality of service and products, friendliness). Yes, the salon is pricy, BUT the price is totally worth it. I am staying at Minus Plus and special thanks to Marina, a fairy of a hair dresser. She understood immediately what I meant, and the end result was exactly what I hoped for, only better. LOVE.

I've been to minusplus Kirchengasse and Taborstraße for the past two years to get my hair cut and also for Balayage. First of all: Sure, I understand their credo that they want to work with people's types and not do anything too crazy. But looking back I was never fully satisfied with the layers they cut into my hair. They made my hair feel heavier somehow and I feel like they can't handle thicker hair very well. My second and biggest point is the Balayage I got done: Again, looking back, I was never actually happy with the outcome. Maybe I told myself it was fine cause I paid a lot of money for it and the whole "fancy hipster flair" of this place. Until yesterday: I checked out another hairdresser, got a fresh Balayage done, paid half the price AND was actually satisfied with my hair cause it turned out exactly how I wanted it to look like: a very natural, light and COOL toned Balayage on my medium brown hair. I ALWAYS added my wish to get a cool toned Balayage and it always turned out very warm and in some lighting even slightly orange (which looks utterly weird and unnatural on me because of my naturally cool toned hair and skin type) It's a little funny cause the hairdressers kept saying it's just my hair and they can't help that it turns out this warm colour but apparently other hairdressers can get the job done, just how I prefer it. I would not have written this long review if it wasn't for all the hundreds of euros I left at minusplus with results that never actually satisfied me.

I got nice sun-kissed coloring and styling for long hair in 2 hours from Birgit. I was tired of complicated technic in 4 hours in other places. Truly less is more!

I got a style and cut from Patrick. Best haircut of my life! Exactly how I wanted, he was very careful and meticulous, I trusted his skill from the start. Thank you for making me look and feel like me! True to their philosophy. Highly recommend
