★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice location, just in the middle of the old town. Mostly it is crowded with youngsters but as it the price of the foods are cheap compared to other normal restaurants, it is attracting refugees these days and the ambience is getting different.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m not sure how this place is getting decent stars. Like my other review of McDonalds in Vienna airport (1-Star) this one similarly and spectacularly disappoints.
After New Years with many restaurants closed, we ventured to McDonalds thinking that the Vienna 1-Star experience was a one-off. This place was busy with a wait at the pick-up area so turnaround of food is expected to be good (i.e. less likely of burgers sitting around getting cold for a long time) but oh how disappointed we were.
Food was VERY bad even by McDonald standard and easily the worse country ever (compared to HK, UK, US, CA, FR, KH, JP, PH and some others I can’t remember). It seems Austria doesn’t do good food and it extends down to fast food too.
Avoid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went to the McCafe upstairs and had an amazing marzipan torte and a very good cardinal slice. Hot chocolate was nice, and we also loved the chocolate cookie frappe. Great, cosy atmosphere in an ideal location, which makes the standard McDonalds much better! A lot more enjoyable than the McDonalds chains in England!

Very well located.
It was very busy and there was still a place to sit.
My complaint is about the burguer that i chose. It looks obviously a lot bigger in the photos.
The pretzel burger was:
WAY TOO SMALL, WAY TOO SOFT AND TASTE VERY BLUNT. Overall there was one good ingredient. The sauce was spicy and nice.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I do not rate McDonald's elsewhere so highly. This is very accessible as the usual, with the staff being normal and not rude. The shop looks good enough. Best of all, this was the first place I saw the European way of naming the burgers "quarter pounders" in the metric system as famously joked about by Samuel Jackson in a classic American movie.
