... total nichtssagend wird dieses 'Monument' der Bedeutung dieses Platzes, in keinster Weise gerecht.Das Mindeste wäre doch, mittels Bildern und Planskizze, den Vorübergehenden zu vermitteln, was und wie es dort damals abgelaufen ist ...
... totally meaningless, this 'monument' does not do justice to the importance of this square in any way. The least would be to convey to the passers-by by means of pictures and plan sketches what and how it went there back then ...

Это мемориал в память о жертвах нацистов, вывезенных из Вены в годы войны в концлагеря. На этом месте располагался тогда вокзал, с которого отправляли узников на смерть. Но рядом находиэятся детская площадка и жилые дома.
This is a memorial commemorating the victims of the Nazis who were taken from Vienna during the war to concentration camps. At that place was then the station, from which the prisoners were sent to death. But nearby are a playground and residential buildings.

Al entender el significado de la escultura es entonces que comienzas a sentir escalofríos: "Una representación de la línea ferroviaria que ahí existió hasta 1977 y que convergen en un túnel oscuro y vacío de concreto que representa la muerte, desolación y olvido" Este lugar fue la estación dónde se deportaban a los judíos austríacos
At first this memorial seems not to have great relevance. Very important memorial place. From the Aspang railway station which was destroyed later im ww2, most of the remaining jewish citizens of vienna were deported to the concentration camps in eastern europe, where most of them never returned as they were murdered there.

The “Aspang Railway Station Memorial” was the beginning of the tracks to the gates of hell for 47.035 Viennese on 47 transports between 1939 and 1942. For many their names on the these lists are the last we know about them. There were 1.073 survivors . . .
