Portions were quite small for the price and service not good. They don't let you use the WiFi, got my order wrong and you can only pay with cash.

Food is at average level. Mostly deep fried dishes. Kitchen is open, in one space with the restaurant and produces huge amounts of smoke from frying. The odour of our clothes was terrible after we left.

I only came for a cappuccino and wasn't particularly impressed, it was ok and had a decent enough outdoor space to sit. They had been open for an hour but did not seem like it as there were not yet any menus on the tables and they seemed reluctant to serve me. As such, when I ordered a cappuccino I was unaware that at this establishment a cappuccino was espresso with some whipped cream on top, not steamed milk foam. It is listed that way in the menu but as I did not have a menu I was disappointed with my morning cup of coffee.

I do not agree with the preview reviews here. My wife and I went here today (April 25) for lunch and had a very pleasant experience. We had excellent service (which surprised us after having been in Europe for 2 weeks and experiencing the "culture" of poor restaurant service), and food was delivered very fast. Now, maybe the previous reviewers went during busy season? I don't know. I only know from my experience, which was extremely positive. Their soups were excellent. My wife had the tomato and I had the consomme with noodles. I had the goulash and my wife had the chicken breast. Both tasted very good. Best of all is that the price, especially for a museum restaurant/cafe, were good. The only thing that I need to mention is that the restaurant is CASH ONLY. I did not know this coming in, nor did I think to ask (I kind of expect all restaurants to offer payment by card). So I had to run to the ATM in the visitor's center to get some euros to pay for lunch. (For those wondering, the ATM there is perfectly fine. Just choose the option to pull currency in Euros, not your local currency. The ATM wanted to charge me 1.29 USD per EUR for the 60 EUR I pulled out, whereas by choosing the EUR option my bank gave me 1.23 USD; lower is better in this case). I recommend.

The soups and coffes were delicious but the lady waiter chose to tip herself and actually told us that the service fee was 10 percent and that was that. I am sorry but it didn't happen anywhere else in Wien like this :( It was a bittersweet experience as we would have left the tip even without her pointing it out. Customer experience faux pas!

It seems some others had the same experience as me, as I was afraid... From the very beginning we ordered I saw the waiters talking, looking at is and laughing. I didn't like and started suspecting. We ordered two simple dishes: gulasch with potatos and some scampi skewers with pasta, and tap water(which is fantastic in Vienna). The waiter didn't say a word just brought 2 little bottles of still water instead. When we finished and asked for the bill, he just brought the card reader and said the final amount. As it was so simple we noticed that it was not right so asked him if he could check because the price was not right. He said yes, the two dishes and the two water bottles. So we paid and again saw them talking and laughing at us from a distance. So we stood, went there, told them the right amount and asked to see the bill. They were not very happy but in the end we saw: They had included a beer... that they knew we had not ordered. Of course, they gave us back out money. But this seems a usual practice for them. If I had been sure, I would have asked for the complaint sheets. It is shameful. Please do, if you go and they try to cheat!

Cuisine is not perfect but ok. A bit pricey (because of location I suppose). The service is fine. The thing I really didn't like - they didn't give me a check. The waiter came with calculator and told me how much I should pay. I payed and left some tips for him. After a while I realized that sum the waiter told me is not correct. Looks like he already included tips into check and didn't notify me about.
