★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kirche am Hof is translated into English as the Church of the Nine Choirs of Angles. Sounds incredibly awesome just by the name. It’s a centrepiece on Am Hof and a significant historical site. Chiefly, it is the church where a royal herald declared the end of the Holy Roman Empire, which had been ruled by the Habsburgs. The dissolution of the Holy Roman Empire eventually resulted in the birth of the German Empire and the Austrian empire. At that point, Emperor Franz I of Austria begin his rule as Emperor of the Austrian Empire. It’s all politics to be honest.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Kirche Am Hof also known as the Church of the Nine Choirs of Angels can be found at Am Hof Square. This is a decent church to visit if you plan to spend time in this area of Vienna.
Church history dates back to the 14th century. The attractive exterior and Baroque style facade was the work of Italian architect Carlo Carlone in 1662.
Within the church, you will find an attractive entrance hall, nave with Gothic features and an elegant altar. The pulpit and side ornately decorated side altars are worth seeing. Do make sure to see the Rococo style organ which dates back to 1763 as well.
Give it 10-15 minutes to explore the interior of the church and then you can make way to other intended sightseeing in the area. I'd also suggest spending a few minutes to enjoy the interesting Mariensäule (Marian Column) just outside the church as well.
