★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This valley has some magic and this house is in the middle of it. Excellent service from staff, quality traditional food and local ingredients. Also, the house can be a good base for hiking around the area. Perfect!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great stop in the middle of the valley. I loved the service and friendliness of the staff. This place gets a 10 for cleanliness. Everything looks relaxing, both outside and inside. I appreciated the fact they have plenty of information posted on the panels at the entrance and brochures. You should definitely try the Kaiserschmarrn!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Walked from Parkplatz Dorfertal (takes around an hour and a half) to the Kalser Tauernhaus to have lunch and we were not disappointed! The food was absolutely delicious - we had a trio of dumplings including the Osttirol specialist Schlipfkrapfen. Exceptional food, great presentation and with stunning alpine views. The sun terrace is gorgeous. The restaurant is busy so be prepared to double up on a table. The service was friendly and super efficient.
The walk up to the house is breathtakingly beautiful. You start through a gorge with rushing glacial waters and then make your way up through the valley (the Dorfertal). The glacial river stays with you the whole way and the stunning mountains (all over 3000m) create the backdrop. Think alpine meadows, rustic cabins, alpine cows grazing and you‘ll have the picture.
