A lot of drunk people, in the night making a lot of noise.

Its just ok. Nothing exquisite. The square around it is very small so a bit crammed. Not a good place to sit for too long...unless head in to the adjoining market or shops etc.

A Phenomenal Tribute to the Father of the Printing Press The lovely Johannes Gutenberg Monument is located near to the Embassy of Chile and St Stephan's Cathedral, and pays tribute to the impact of Gutenberg's introduction of moveable type to Europe. The revolutionary machine produced the Gutenberg Bible--the first important book to be mass-produced--and was central to the spread of scientific information, the development of the Reformation, the opening of the Renaissance, and the opportunity for regular people to learn.

Great statue in this neat square, in front of this grand building, kind of protecting, the father/Inventor of the printing press.

The statue of Johannes Gutenberg is located at the Lugeck and Backerstrasse intersection in front of the attractive Regensburger Hof building, approx. 5 minutes walk northeast of Stephansplatz. The bronze statue is the work of Austrian sculptor Hans Bitterlich in 1900. Here the 15th-century goldsmith and inventor is bearded with hat and overcoat, standing and peering downward. Gutenberg is positioned atop a pedestal with reliefs carved into each side. In the end, it is a decent statue and worth viewing if you are in the area and enjoying seeing historical monuments and statues like this one of Johannes Gutenberg.

This monument stands in tribute to Johannes Gutenberg, the man credited with inventing the printing press. The monument is a bronze sculpture of Gutenberg wearing a gown and depicted with a huge beard. To his right is a printing press, which he is leaning on with his right hand. Not an amazing sculpture, but worth a look at a monument of someone who changed the course of human history.
