Running Sushi. Sehr gut, sehr freundlich!

Limited selection and poorly prepared dishes made this a very poor experience for us. The restaurant is billed as a sushi bar and includes a revolving sushi buffet with largely non-sushi food items. The few pieces available includes cuts of fish that weren't fresh.

UPDATED REVIEW: Sadly in the years since I posted my review the quality has dropped quite substantially. The conveyor was changed to a dual cooling/heating system which sadly is a terrible idea. The warm meals dry out, and Sushi is getting cold. As you can quickly discover yourself, Sushi should not be eaten cold, the rice should be well tempered at nearly body temperature. This means it should be made fresh and not made hours in advance. With the old open conveyor the sushi tasted much better. Now it's cooled down before it gets to you and it just tastes average. The fish cut has gotten sloppy as well and worse yet, it can take ages for you to get any nigris. Fish variety is also lacking. And while the overall quality went down, prices were raised considerably. Sadly, this restaurant went down from my Number 1 favorite to only average. ---------------------- OLD REVIEW: I'm always sceptical when someone says that this or that restaurant is the "best in town". Most of the time it only means that the guy just doesn't know any other place to make a comparison. I know a lot of sushi restaurants, and in my opinion Kaisaki is absolutely superior. The place itself isn't fancy by any means, but the food itself is fantastic. Even people who don't like fish get their share of meat dishes and even sweet stuff like handmade vanilla rolls, nougat rolls, etc. The actual Sushi is really great. The Nigiri are well-sized and the cutting of the fish is obviously done by an expert with years of experience. Their sushi cook is pretty young but don't let that fool you - he's a pro. My only complaint is that the place is too small during the sushi rush hours. There's another sushi restaurant just 50 meters down the road, but I'd really rather wait for a spot to become available here. Oh and another complaint: They don't deliver. You can order by phone and fetch, but there's no delivery service. But hey, the price is good (DO opt for the all-you-can-eat running sushi instead of the tables) , the Sushi is excellent and the other food is fantastic as well.
