The Rooms are a bit small, but clean and the overall hotel looks clean.
Breakfast was great!! We received salmon, blueberries, ceddar, etc. The breakfast coffee was also great.
I definetly recommend this hotel and Melk in general!

I was planning to stay at one cheaper hotels listed in my Rick Steve’s guidebook, but it was the middle of the week, so I checked this hotel, and their price was only a few euros more than the cheaper options I was considering. The room appeared to be brand new. I didn’t request it, but I wound up with a room with a balcony overlooking the town square. It was delightful people-watching in the evening. The owners (Philippe and Pascal, who speak German, French, and English) were very helpful with tourist advice and suggestions. The breakfast was delicious as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I had a really bad experience with one of the owners, a man in the 70s with a French accent. Super rude, impolite, screaming at me in the middle of the road. His parking lot is in a small road that leads to our hotel. I had to stand there for maybe 2-3 min to take out my small baby from the car. He came out of his hotel and screamed at me: take out your car NOW! I tried to explain that I was just taking out my baby, if he could give me 2 min. Didn't work, he screamed more and more and tried to close the bar of tbe gate to hurt me! Then my husband arrived and I told him what happened and the guy, of course, said he did not do anything.. obviously he is the type of person that is just courageous enough to threaten a girl with a baby, not a man face to face... Needless to say, this is not the type of person you wanna be around in a hotel...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I really enjoyed the room (In this hotel each room is named by a fruit or vegetable, we had the strawberry room) since it faced the main street, the rooms are clean and there is a fan in case it's hot.
*the bottles aren't given by the hotel, we bought it in some shop outside*

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The rooms are very clean, the staff is very nice, it is good that one can check in unyil 23:00. Here I found the Bailoni schnaps! They have a terrific Swedish buffet breakfast where you have varieties of cheese, salami, fruit, cereal, beverages, salads and even smoked salmon ❤️ The room faces the plaza where you have terraces and Cafes opened untill around 23.00, but the closed windows lets you hear nothing. We weren't asked to provide a covid certificate. I dearly recommend!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice Hotel with friendly staff. The room is situated on the 2nd floor. It is called Lemon Room translated in English. The views from the windows are spectacular. One side you see the Monastery from a roof window. From the other side you see the old town center. We stayed only for one night. I reccomend it.
The parking is free and situated on the back of the hotel on a small street on the left hand side.
