Hotel Schwalbe - Degengasse 45

Sweet little charming hotel- small boutique hotel. We liked a lot the mixture of art amd old vienna style. Cute dog. We come defentely again

Amazing service, the lady running the place was able to help me in English and provided excellent recommendations for local services. Room was larger than expected and very clean. Only complaint is that the wifi was a bit slow.

Stayed here for a few days in early May. Overall, quiet neighborhood, quaint atmosphere and with a long history. PROS — Check in was smooth and hassle free. — Room was small and cozy; room had a sink and shower, but shared toilet was in the hallway. — My room was on the 3rd floor and there was not much noise at all from outside; great natural light. — Internet connection in the room was good. — Blankets and pillows were plentiful. — It got cooler at night and there was a space heater in the room. It was just right. CONS —The hallways are noisy, so if people talk loudly, it will be amplified and you will hear the conversation clearly. —There was a dog who barked ... a lot. And roamed freely in the dining area. That can be a turn off for some guests. — No tissue in the room - for blowing your nose. —The linen was small and thin. —The toilet in the hallway is a bit of a hassle: * At night, it’s dark in the hallway; if you have a torch, it will come in handy. There’s a light switch, but you’ll still need to find it. * You can hear others get up to go the toilet. * I felt reluctant to get up and go to the bathroom for fear that I might run into another guest in the hallway in my night clothes. * There are no sinks in the toilet room, so ... no where to wash your hands. OTHER HOTEL AMENITIES —There’s an elevator/lift in the building. — Nice breakfast room with authentic antiques and trinkets; and interesting decor throughout (though not an interesting decor in the rooms). — Overall, the hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. —The breakfast had pastries, fruit, boiled eggs, coffee, juice. PROXIMITY / SURROUNDING NEIGHBORHOOD — Lots of options for quick grocery shopping - to pick up water or snacks. Same for pharmacy/drug store items. — Public transportation is easily accessible; walking directions are relatively simple.

In an expensive city to find a hotel a good alternative. Good room, excellent breakfast and good cleaning. The WiFi in my room could have been better. I had my own bicycle and then the distance to the tourist attractions was no problem

The room was very small but very clean (The bed especially was very small for the amount of money I paid > 100 Euros). In my opinion the room was overpriced for its size but overall I had a good stay at Hotel Schwalbe. That said, the breakfast was very good and the receptionist though elderly but very friendly and helpful. There is some distance from the Ottakring Metro station to the Hotel and moving with luggage was rather difficult on arrival. All else good!

Everything is so unique in this hotel! I love their hospitality and the feeling of home there. All the rooms are completely different and special, you kind of feel like in a museum! Breakfast were great. I stayed there two times already and will stay much more! Thank you so much! ?

Amazing hotel with Viennese charme and attentative staff who could not care more about us. We loved the breakfast as well as the location. The owners gave us great recommendations of restaurants and places to visit.

Great location to explore Vienna. The hotel has a lot to offer when it comes to art. Our room was super clean and very spacious. Had the best breakfast here.
