Hotel Palais26 Villach

The room is good but Parking lot entrance is very narrow. Water heater had an issue as it flows suddenly very hot water (burned my scalp) followed by very cold water when it is set at warm temperature or middle position. Issue was reported without taking an action from hotel staff claiming it was a short stay (3 nights only).

This hotel offers a lot of value for money. The rooms look nice, the design is very stylish, the breakfast is very good and the location is in the middle of the city close to great bars and restaurants.

Nice staff and clean hotel. You can use its teraces or restaurant. Rooms were well equiped. A bit problematic to find parking entrance but after reception navigated us, it was easy. Hotel has great location at the very center of city.

Positive: great location, beautiful and nicely renovated old building, friendly welcome by staff. Negative: my wife and our 1y old son had 2 small milk cups during breakfast which turned out to be 6 (!) days over date. Sharing this experience with the person at the reception we were told “not to worry and to look on the positive side of things”. She even told me that “it is good for the stomach to drink milk which is over date”. Unacceptable reaction and unworthy of this nice and classy establishment.

This hotel is in the middle of old town. There were no 7/24 reception, at late night and on Sundays (!!) there was exceptions on service. The room was big, air condition was available and view was just to pedestrian street. Unfortunately the room didn’t include minibar or fridge to store cold drinks in hot summer days. Special thanks to cleaning team, they make the room very pleasant to stay. Hotel offers very good deal for car hire, unfortunately I forgot my driving license back home. Lastly: thank you for your help to surprise my wife on our anniversary.

Great people, restaurant and place.

Everything about my experience with this hotel was lovely from the minute we entered to check in. We walked in with very low expectations given the not so famous name of the hotel and Villach being a small town but we were wrong. Friendly staff, beautiful high quality rooms, very clean and most importantly the best breakfast you can ever have. If you're planning to visit Villach, this is your hotel, don't miss it

I stayed here for 2 weeks in July/August 2021. I wanted to give this place 5 stars because most of the staff at the front desk and working at the restaurant were friendly and good at their jobs. The rooms were clean and well maintained. The place is quiet despite being close to a church bell tower. The breakfast is fantastic! And in general I got a good night of sleep. But I dropped one star because getting back into the hotel after 7 or 8pm when the front desk closes is a bit of a shore. The front door gets shut and your key can’t open it. So you have to enter from way behind the building and to do so you have to walk on a dark back alley. Villach feels mostly safe but there were a couple of nights when I saw a couple of sketchy characters who felt uncomfortable. Other than that I got the feeling that being Villach maybe they don’t get a lot of visitors from the US or farther away cultures so maybe one or two staff members felt a little stiff or unprepared to deal with foreigners from very far away. That said, I had a good experience with the manager and most of the other staff including a nice gentleman leading breakfast service. The manager in particular, a very friendly blonde woman felt especially well prepared, helpful, friendly and kind at all times. So… 4 stars leaning towards 5 :)
