Very nice apartment in Tweng, right in front of the clear river Mur. You have everything you need in the room and its very new and clean. Wonderful view on the Obertauern mountains. Price was OK

Lovely place with super friendly people. The rooms are not huge but very comfortable. The food here is very tasty.

One thing I hate is when they ask €6,- for a two cappuccinos from and automat, and that's the 'special price' but I have to pay with cash... Otherwise it is €7,- by card...

Something didn't sit right with me about this place. Strangely my kids said it too. The guy on reception was friendly enough but tweng is no tourist hotspot despite the self given 'up and coming tourist town' tag it seems to have awarded itself. Its basically a high street in and back out the other end. Not a lot there at all. The hotel was decent enough but obviously empty. The guy showed me to the 'family room' he claims I'd booked on booking.com and perhaps I did. It didn't show you every room. He then says , 'let me show you another two larger rooms ' which were also family rooms . Yes they were larger but he wanted 25 euro more per night for one and 60euro more for the other per night. He wasn't wrong in doing this I guess but the suspicion was that the small room was like the Starbucks coffee cup scams to push your behaviour towards the upgrade. To get the extra money. With it being so empty , with the wellness operating at extremely limited hours and the bubble pool outside beside the bikers shed , covered over and not functioning, with the town of tweng all but closed down, the ski lifts off and obviously in hibernation for the summer, he might have offered the middle sized room as a free upgrade. I paid the additional 25euro per night for 2 nights but it didn't sit well with me. As a result we declined the want to eat or drink there. The room was actually clean and OK. It just had a touch or the Norman Bates about the place. Low season I guess could do that

If you're not into next door apres ski and don't mind a little ride up to Obertauern this place is the one to choose. Apartment building is modern and comfortable and you can enjoy sauna after a day at the slope ;)
