Paid for the night, never received the key because the owner never shown up. My worst experience ever. Owners don't care about their customers... They had our phone number for calling. No excuses accepted.

We have been in touch that after 10-hour drive would be slightly later. They indicated no minutes longer to want to stay. Asked whether they wanted to accept the key somewhere. Also this was not possible. €140,-paid. Tried to call, but were pushed away. Sure it is 20:00 20:00! But if we are, can we file a little later a solution to be invented? Because they indicated yet to come. There was a note on the door! I would never have books! What if something a bit different, they want to totally not with it thinking (Luckily most hotels with code or a reception which is open) They would call us back with a solution, they still need to call! You are to 21:00 with 2 children in the car without hotel and €140,-lighter!!!! Bad bad hotel !!!!

The girl at the counter spoke good english. The room was great. We were in a hurry to get to town so they opened kitchen early just for us. Receptionist gave us a bus pass and told us bus timetable and where to get off in Insbruck. In the morning the breackfast was exelent. Top marks.

We booked and paid for an overnight travel stay, but when we arrived at 11 pm no one showed up. So there we were, in the middle of nowhere, with 3 small children and a pregnant wife, tired of driving all day and craving for a good sleep, but apparently the owners really don't care about their guests and just let you and your children down. (at the least, they could have called us and let us know that we weren't able to check in anymore, so we could have searched for another hotel). We had tried to call them that evening to let them know we'd be arriving later due to traffic jams, but no one answered the phone. We contacted them about this but never received a reply on our emails. And it even got worse: eventually, we called them to ask whether we could book an overnight stay on our way back home (and get discount, due to the 'cancelled night' we had paid for before). The employee we talked to said this was alright, and that we could check in until 8 pm, latest 9 pm. But when we called at 7:30 to let them know it was going to be 8:30 pm, the owner said they had closed already, and that they had never said it was ok to arrive until 9pm, and bluntly told us that we were lying. When we told him we were really flabbergasted by his 'hospitality' (or hostility!) and said we would write an online review about this, he threatened to sue us.... Never again!

We absolutely loved our stay in Gasthof Zum Schupfen. We went specifically for skiing and were not that interested in spending time in Innsbruck. This guesthouse is 10 min drive from Innsbruck so we still were able to visit without a problem. Bus stop is literally opposite the guesthouse and you get guest ticket so you don't have to pay for transport around Innsbruck. The owners are the most lovely and hospitable people you could wish for. We were aware that check in was from 14.30, however arrived earlier and hoped we could only leave our luggage and head to Innsbruck. Straight away we were made feel very welcome and got keys to our room before check in time. Yves and Ewelina who run the place are always very helpful and create family like atmosphere. The closest ski resort is again 10 min drive and we had transport organised by the hotel. 30-40 min drive more ski resorts with some really breathtaking views! If you drive there is free car park. Breakfast buffet offers big choice of yummy food. After skiing we were too tired to go anywhere else but so lucky as the restaurant in the hotel was serving delicious Austrian food. There is also nice small bar where you can enjoy drink before and after dinner. Special thanks goes to the funny and excellent at his job waiter who made each of our dinners even more enjoyable. Will strongly recommend this place. It was just perfect. Thank you again to all the staff we came across with. You made our holidays super special! We will be back :) Julia and Christian

Zero professionalism and customer service. It's a beautiful wooden house and well designed authentic wooden rooms. We really liked it but had to stay in cold! We booked a double bed room and to our surprise she offered a 5 bed family room, saying it's free and you can use it. Immediately we realized that the heating system is not working as it works next the entrance door. We brought it to her notice twice within 30 minutes of our arrival. Remember there is indication how to use the heater regulator, as it rotates both sides and numbered 0-6 in clock and anti-clock wise. Our two requests were simply denyed by saying that it'll work automatically when it gets cold outside!! Fast forward to 19.30, nothing worked and she came up and "turned on" the heater but our waiting in the cold with a small baby was futile. Nothing worked and it was hard to catch her in the reception - remember there is no one in the reception. We had to hold her either in the dining hall or kitchen. She never tells you that please wait a bit and I'll attend you in 10 minutes or so... Simply she ignored. Zero professionalism! Finally she came up with a pathetic explanation - it's 21 degree and this is the standard temperature in Innsbruck. She didn't respond why the heater is not working! Then she became our geography teacher to tell us this is not Italy and this is Austria hence the low temperature. Unbelievable experience. Zero professionalism and customer service. 2 hours of explanation! It was so hard to find you out , you did not even tell wait I'll hear your problem in 10 minutes but made us to wait atleast 10 minutes to report you. The lady in the morning at reception was kind. Haha you would even want to decide what we should dress now!!! wow unbelievable arrogance and no care for customers!! The only thing it comes to my mind is - You will reap what you sow. I just want to express what we experienced on that day. I have more important things than doing fake reviews. Thanks

We booked the hotel online and the day before arrival I called the hotel for letting them know we would arrive later in the evening (note: it was Thursday before Easter and there is usually a lot of traffic). The receptionist was very rude and unfriendly and said it was not possible and that we had to cancel. I then called the booking agency and they tried to negotiate but no result. So it was agreed that the room can be cancelled for FREE (I have a confirmation email stating this, glad to present to anybody doubting the accuracy of the information). Apparently the information provided on the agency place is not aligned with the actual opening hours of this place and due to the hotel not cooperating the booking was cancelled free of charge. Then we thought this would be all set and done until I check my credit card to find out the charged us for the night??!! So after all that, they literally tried to rob me from my money. This is unbelievable but unfortunately very congruent with other reviews in here and reflects the unfriendliness of this place which resulted in us having to use time and resources to get back in touch with the agency to finally get refunded. I stronlgy urge people not to visit this place. The country of Ausria is known for its hospitality but it’s people like here that can destroy this image. Very disappointing! Do not visit this place, there are thousands of places in the area where you will be welcomed with a hearty austrian hospitality and that deserver your money more than this place!

This quaint little guesthouse is located just outside Innsbruck on a main bus line, so it's very easy to get to. The room we had was small, but so cozy and we loved it! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with providing us information on transportation and dining. We ended up eating at the restaurant on site and we are so glad that we did...we overindulged from starters to dessert and it was all absolutely delicious! Highly recommended and very decent for such a reasonable price.
