Most of the guests are eating in some kind of customized "bedrooms". On top of that it takes forever before the dinner is served. Not worth it...

The price quality ratio is very well for this accommodation. Don't expect fancy or excessive things. This does not match with the no-nonsense style of the host. The fact that the residence is a little outside of the city is well compensated with the complementary taxi service and the possibility to ski from the slope (from WesternStadl) down to the hotel (if there is enough snow).

When we came back about 2 hours later, everything was finished and the room looked good and clean. Bathroom is a bit small but it wasn't an issue for us. Breakfast was good, with different sorts of oatmeal, plenty of bread, orange juice, coffee, tea etc. Had everything we could have whished for. Dinner was good too. There's a salad bar to make your own appetizer. The main course is predetermined but very good, altough the portion size could be a bit bigger. Desert was good too. The hotel offers a free taxi service from 8 to 11 and 15 to 17. Overall, we had a pleasant stay
I	Ian M Slater on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very comfortable hotel providing excellent food and very attentive service. We spent a week skiing in Saalbach and the Altachhof proved to be an excellent location. The hotel complex (there are actually 3 hotels) is 70m above the road thru the village however the Altachhof provides a free (kostenlosaw) taxi service to and from the main lifts in Saalback. The journey takes just 3 mins! Our room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The shower had good pressure and there was always plentiful hot water. The new sauna is quite large and very smart comfortably taking 12 people. There are a couple of relaxation areas to cool down. The hotel provided complimentary drinks (beer, shandy, wine etc) which was greatly appreciated after a full days skiing in the sunshine.

The location is a bit out of town, however was only a 3-4 minute ride to the lift and back each morning (included with the hotel), so was very easy.

We could not have had a better time - the Elder family are wonderful, kind, thoughtful and generous hosts. The food was SO good, service excellent and very comfortable clean rooms. Loved the sauna too! Would highly recommend as place to stay - Saalbach is the loveliest resort and a family run hotel is particularly special.
