★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hohenwerfen Castle was on my bucket list because of their falconry. It was amazing to see the magnificent raptors flying over us (breathtaking!) and listen to the falconers telling about the birds (in German). What’s more, the views are absolutely stunning!
It was a half-day trip from Salzburg for us, and it’s absolutely worth it!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A fantastic place high on the mountain with an astonishing view. With easy access and parking. For all the family. Has a restaurant inside and historical collection. And the best... a show with birds of prey...a must see!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful castle between the mountains and the Salzach River, the entrance is around 15€/person and you have access to the lift as well as a tour and some Falconry. 100% recommended for children (many Games) and adults.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful place to visit. Hiking is great, it was a short walk going to the castle but its a good exercise! I recommend to bringa carry on for baby and not a stroller because of the stairs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You can buy a ticket for a guided tour, or you walk around like we.
Nothing special to see. Maybe the guide knows more.
The gardens were nice at the lower part. Here they give also demonstrations with falcons. But look for the time(schedule), are you have to wait long time like us.
You can go up by lift or walk(+/- 25 min), and down by lift or walk (15 min).

We saw full show with different eagles, hawks and vultures.
The demonstration is really impressive.
The castle itself is nice, but the organisation was chaotic and not so clear.
Definitely recommend the place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I arrived in Werfen in the morning. It was foggy and you could barely see the castle. It was so cool! I didn't pay for admission, as I had already heard it wasn't worth it. But it was great getting photos of the castle encased in fog. And the walk up was fantastic! I highly recommend it!
