M	Mico Milanovic on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A spectacular collection of body armor covering several centuries. This must be one of the top collections in Europe in terms scope and breadth. Many armor sets were made for purely ceremonial occasions.
G	Gregor Petri on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Court Hunting and Armoury Many centuries of European history are told by the elaborately decorated armour, saddles, firearms and magnificent weapons in the Armoury at the Hofburg. The gold sword of Maximilian II (1527-1576), one of the most beautiful weapons in the world, is kept here, as is the magnificent breastplate of King Ferdinand of Aragon (1452-1516). Highly political events such as campaigns, imperial days, homage ceremonies, coronations and weddings always provided occasions to create new objects that were brought into the Court Hunting and Armoury. Almost all Western European ruling houses are represented here with objects from the 15th to the early 20th century. The armour on display is all custom-made, and the armour was forged according to designs by such famous artists as Albrecht Dürer and Hans Holbein. Since March 2013, the world's largest collection of courtly equipment for falconry has been presented in the newly opened room "The Emperor and the Hunt". A golden aviary for the precious falcon and hawk bonnets and the richly embroidered falconry hats that go with them vividly illustrates the outstanding importance that falconry had in the courtly life of the late Middle Ages and the Renaissance.

Here you are going to find the best armors for the knights and horses made by the best European armorers of XV-XVII century. Museum even has some helmets made in IX and XIII centuries. Visitors are allowed to take non commercial photo without flash light and tripod. Highly recommend for your visit in Vienna.
D	Daniel Lee on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I found it hard to get to (Google Maps is not accurate) but if you have any interest in armor and weapons used by nobles this is the place to go. The collection here are typically ornate and for ceremony rather than battle (visit the Army Museum instead). The display is only one floor - easy to see everything in about an hour.

The audio guide costs 4 euros by person ( which is already unacceptable) and above that is only of use for one or two piece of collection by room! ? the majority of the collection will remain obscur to you if you don't already have a HUGE knowledge of the history of armour..
S	Saverio Atz on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing collection of medieval armor. The building is also fantastic. Never saw anything like that. Old warriors were so much scary and intimidating. Of course, before the age of automatic weapons, the human skills was the essence of the war.
