Traditional food and local wine.

Lovely garden, good food and service. Can recommend to anyone looking for typical Heurigen.

Reserved a table, came in, place half empty and we were shown to a table which was in the worst corner, and had ashtrays with cigarettes in them, and some glasses. Obviously, the personnel was taking a break inside a non-smoking restaurant and nobody bothered to clean it up. When we asked to sit at another table in the vast almost empty room, the waitress had to go and "ask". We were told 'ok, pick which one you want'. We were given a menu (and told "please chose whatever you want from the menu") and brought wine (which was and is pretty good), and then when we wanted to order, we were told that half of the stuff on the menu isn't available, because they're already out of it. why weren't we told what IS available at the time we got the menu?! The place opens at 3:30 p.m. and by 7:45 p.m. you're out of food? We wanted some Speck, and were told they don't have any by the head waitress. When I walked by the bar (which is closed during the pandemic, everything is served a la cart), I saw a basket of Speck. When I asked the head waitress, she told us that if she asked the kitchen to cut Speck for the guests, the food would take even longer to be ready. So we ordered some cold spreads and bread and then a few warm dishes. After about 45 minutes, it all arrived AT THE SAME TIME. Normally, the spreads come first, then the warm stuff, right? The spreads were tasteless, the food tasted like it was bought at METRO and warmed up. What happened to you, Hengl-Haselbrunner?! For 20 years we've been coming, and now this? This was our last visit. Lastly - when we walked out and saw the kitchen through the open window and the cooks, our decision to not come again was just confirmed - Meister Proper needs to visit and soon! In Grinzing, where there are so many other high quality Heuriger, the nice garden you have will just not bring the guests in anymore!

The place is located at a very nice part of the city, it is calm yet the atmosphere is sparkling. We had very nice wines and I liked the traditional dishes as well. Pretty much recommended for a warm summer night with friends. The garden is suitable for big groups, the staff is very kind and professional. We had a good time with my friends.

Nice place to sample some wines and choose accompanying dishes to taste (from a deli-style counter - dishes are priced by weight). Lively atmosphere. The garden also looks nice to enjoy, weather permitting.

The best food, interesting people, and hanging out with Matthias Hengl- life cant get much better. Thank you Matthias Hengl for including us celebrating ypur birthday. Family
