I visit Mauer 4 times a year and go here two times on my visit. Now its closed. I'm so sad! I love and miss the workers and the food. I hope with all my heart this place makes it and re opens. Toi Toi Toi to all the beautiful workers and cooks that makes this restaurant more then just a place to eat. I miss and love you all!

Travelers who stumbled upon this restaurant. Menu was completely in German. Our wonderful host, Alan (Allen) was so kind to help translate a bunch of items, giving us a brief explanation of what locals like and what traditional Viennese kitchens offer. It was a National Holiday when we went and the place was quiet packed. We had the schnitzel and pork in mushroom sauce. Both were excellent and portions were worth it. If you go, find Alan! He’s amazing and will use honesty in recommending what’s best. He’s a hard working fella and great server.

Place has much space for big groups: families, friends, company events. It is great place for smokers, but because that not very friendly for small children. Food is tasty and staff is very kind. Meals are served quite fast. Kitchen offers as well daily menu, which is cheaper as other meals. Menu covers enough for adults, children, vegetarian and those who likes sweets :-).

This restaurant is simply amazing! It is very rare that I find a location that fills all my expectations. Firstly the service is not only friendly but also very quick. The selection of beers, wine and food is fantastic. The menu is concentrated on real Austria cuisine (as if grandma made it herself) with a few classic international dishes thrown in for good measure. It feels like you're eating food cooked by a chef that really enjoys his job. Lastly, the management is great. He goes around, knowing the majority of his patrons by name and he obviously really cares about his customers and staff which has become very rare these days. The mixture of interior design between old and modern is spot on. They've obviously adapted a former nobel villa or "little palace" as the name suggests into a classy modern gem. And the garden area has the flare of a true Austrian beer garden for hot summer days and nights. All in all, I and my 30 guests where more than happy, every wish catered for. I really don't understand the negative reviews posted here at all, this place is the best of the best and great value for money! Thank you for making our night very special indeed.

Excellent food! Good coffee, great place for families as there's a playground right next to it and older kids (I'd say 5+ depending on the child) can go alone while parents sit at the restaurant. There are some trees and bushes between the restaurant and the playground so you can't really have a direct view. Very friendly waitresses ☺️
