Most of the lifts out of order today, skiing limited to virtually one slope, which was not very interesting. Nearly no information on outages in English. I wanted to try something new, but am going to stick to classics - Reiteralm, Flachauwinkl or Alpendorf. I was never disappointed there.

Nice service, new cabins. Online updates info on Insta or Fcb would be appreciated. We found out about limited access to higher slopes due to bad wheather just in place.

Not cheap but very good service and friendly staff at the lift stations. Season-Card for kids is a great offer if you book before Dec 5.

Having perfect mountains is NOT enough. One star for slopes grooming - absolutely perfect. Another star for some of the best ski slopes in Salzburg and Sportgastein with it's freeride possibilities. One star down for selling tickets at full price when connection between Stubner and Angertal is not even opened (e.g. just before last Christmas). One star down for the lack of proper good slope from Stubner to Bad Gastein and from Schlossalm to Angertal. And the last star down for what happened today at Sporti: a holiday, winter season on and there's 1, yes, one slope opened. The whole right side of the resort with the best red runs in Salzburg hasn't been groomed at all and is closed. Yet again full price is charged for a day ski pass. It seems like the Gasteiner Bergbahnen take much care about profit and not much about the customers who make that profit happen for them. And let's not even talk about the sad story of closed Graukogel. That mountain is gold and has absolutely top slopes and is a perfect option to the main resorts when they are crowded. It's a shame. The above mentioned issues you don't see at Hochkonig, Flachau, Saalbach or Zillertal for that matter. In those resorts you can see and feel the push for perfection by the Bergbahnen. Not the case in Gastein, sadly.

Well organised 8 seat gondola system. Has a mid point stop off or stay on and go to the top.
