A	Alexander Threm on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heute war ich zum ersten Mal auf der Simms-Hütte. Ich war zu einem Tagesausflug da und bin nach einer Mittagspause wieder zurück, daher kann diese Rezension nichts zum Lager sagen. Die Hütte ist kernig gemütlich, das Personal freundlich und das Essen sehr lecker. Today I went to the Simms Hut for the first time. I was there on a day trip and came back after a lunch break so this review can't comment on the camp. The hut is cozy, the staff friendly and the food delicious.
J	Jdhdqh on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wir mussten als Gruppe leider absagen, da zwei Mitglieder zu erschöpft waren um die Tour weiter fortzusetzen bzw. der angekündigte Starkregen die Strecke für die beiden noch mal schwieriger und länger gemacht hätte. Das war bereits zwei Tage vor der Simmshütte. Entgegen den eigenen Reservierungsbestimmungen hatte der Hüttenwirt bereits 20 Euro (anstatt 10) pro Person als Anzahlung verlangt, aber natürlich ist man trotzdem so höflich und ruft einmal an, dass man es an dem Tag nicht schaffen wird. Ich nehme an das war nicht die einzige Absage an dem Tag, zumindest wurde der Wirt wütend und unhöflich als ich ihm sagte, dass wir es leider nicht schaffen. Klar für ihn stellt das Ganze einen wirtschaftlichen Verlust dar (für uns dank doppelter Anzahlung übrigens auch) aber so ist das eben als Hüttenwirt. Gezwungen wurde der Herr sicher nicht dazu. Die Ansbacher Hütte schaffte übrigens ein freundliches "Alles klar, danke für deinen Anruf". Unfortunately, we had to cancel as a group because two members were too exhausted to continue the tour or the announced heavy rain would have made the route even more difficult and longer for them. That was already two days before the Simmshütte. Contrary to his own reservation terms, the hut landlord had already asked for a deposit of 20 euros (instead of 10) per person, but of course you are still so polite and call once that you won't make it that day. I guess that wasn't the only rejection that day, at least the host got angry and rude when I told him that we couldn't make it. Of course for him the whole thing represents an economic loss (for us too, thanks to the double down payment, by the way) but that's just how it is as a hut keeper. The Lord was certainly not forced to do so. By the way, the Ansbacher hut managed a friendly "All right, thanks for your call".

Abends Live Musik nach einem lecken Abendbrot und gutes Frühstück am nächsten Morgen. Eine Empfehlung für jeden, der in der Nähe ist... Small and cozy hut. We even got a Kaiserschmarren, although the kitchen was officially closed. Thank you, Charly. Live music in the evening after a delicious dinner and a good breakfast the next morning. A recommendation for anyone who is around ...
W	Wild Traveller on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wunderschön gelegene, ruhige Hütte abseits der üblichen Ströme. Der umtriebige Hüttenwirt ist eine Legende, aber das besondere Flair entfaltet sich bestimmt erst abends und somit nicht mir als Tageswanderer. So beschränkt sich meine Bewertung auf die gastronomische Seite: liebenswürdiger junger Bursche im Service. Der Blick auf die Speisetafel: monoton - von "so schmecken die Berge" (da macht die Hütte nicht mit) weit entfernt. Für einen stattlichen Preis bekomme ich ein Tellerchen "Tagessuppe" mit Würsteln. Die Suppe sieht auf Anhieb nach Tütensuppe aus und schmeckt auch so, undefinierbar. Erst ein paar wenige Lauchfetzen enttarnen ihren Namen: Lauchcremesuppe? Mit viel Goodwill würde ich sagen selbst gemacht. Wie auch immer, sie schmeckt nach nichts und macht nicht ansatzweise satt. Beim letzten Besuch war das Essen ok, daher war es heute vielleicht ein Ausrutscher. Beautifully located, quiet cabin away from the usual currents. The bustling hut keeper is a legend, but the special flair only unfolds in the evening and therefore not for me as a day hiker. So my rating is limited to the gastronomic side: amiable young lad in the service. The view of the dining table: monotonous - far from "this is how the mountains taste" (the hut does not participate). For a handsome price I get a plate of "soup of the day" with sausages. The soup immediately looks and tastes like bag soup, indefinable. Only a few scraps of leek reveal their name: Cream of Leek Soup? With a lot of goodwill, I would say made it myself. Either way, it tastes like nothing and doesn't even begin to fill you up. Last visit the food was ok so maybe it was a slip up today.
S	Salome Niedermeier on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Eine ganz urige, kleine Hütte mit einzigartigem und sehr herzlichem Hüttenwirt "Charly". Das Essen war sehr gut - Kaiserschmarrn ist sehr zu empfehlen. Abends kann mit Musikaufgebot und viel Stimmung gerechnet werden. Wer gerne früher ins Bett geht, sollte das Bettenlager vorziehen. A very rustic, small hut with a unique and very warm hut host "Charly". The food was very good - Kaiserschmarrn is highly recommended. In the evening, you can count on a music show and a lot of atmosphere. Those who like to go to bed earlier should prefer the bed dormitory.

M	Maarten Fauvart on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nicely located between the valley (Lechtal towns Holzgau/Stockach/Bach) and higher mountain refuge huts (Ansbacher hütte, Kaiserjochhaus) with options for scaling local peaks (Wetterspitze, Feuerspitze) offering marvellous sights of the Lechtaler alps. Decent food, very friendly host and staff. Good chance of spotting groundhogs (Mürmeltiere in German) and ibices (Steinböcke) - go shortly beyond the hut towards Wetterspitze for the latter. Popular place so book in advance, especially in weekends but also on Wednesdays and Thursdays in case of good weather. Direct route to Kaisers / Edelweishaus still blocked as of August 2019, check with the host for the latest update.
