Imposing and last point of our hut tour. The young Fabian does a very good job as the new hut owner. Food was good, but at low temperatures you need more than a summer sleeping bag. The hut has new and clean sanitary facilities (but no shower - an idyllic pond for washing in front of the door). In addition, the hut can only be reached on foot.

Das Team rund um Hüttenwirt Fabian hat uns heute perfekt bewirtet. Das Essen und die Kuchen waren genial. Die neue Terrasse ist sehr gemütlich und auffallend liebevoll dekoriert. Herzliche Gratulation Familie Kolp - weiter so!
The team around hut landlord Fabian gave us perfect catering today. The food and the cakes were awesome. The new terrace is very cozy and noticeably lovingly decorated. Congratulations to the Kolp family - keep it up!

Edmund-Graf is not the easiest Hütte to approach, but this place, and the view will compensate everything double to you, if you reach it. I can also recommend to climb the Hoher Riffler (3169m, the path starts from the Hütte), it was one of the most exhausted, and beautiful experience of my life.

Beautiful views, nice facilities, nice hosts, but all the food was really disappointing. I ate lunch, dinner, and breakfast and all were pretty bad. Having visited more than 15 huts last month (and many more on previous trips), this was clearly on the lowest scale of meal quality of any OEAV, SAV, CAI, or DAV hut. My wurst was fine but the salad was terrible, the pasta dinner was horribly overcooked with some bland tomato sauce with about 4 slices of zucchini and nothing else, and the breakfast was meager. So many huts do a dramatically better job.

Lovely remote hut with basic but clean facilities and a stunning view, although the food is not great. Hot water is available for 1 hour in the afternoon for the washrooms but there's a lake right outside if you want to brave the cold (it's achingly cold though, even in summer). Electricity for charging phones is between set hours in the afternoon/early evening. The food is basic and you need to be clear about needing vegetarian options each time you order. I would suggest ordering early off the menu (before 4pm) if you are vegetarian, so you can choose a better tasting dish than what is offered at dinner (from 6pm). Great beer and lovely red wine is available. We skipped breakfast as we were descending that day. The beds are cosy and there is outdoor seating to enjoy the sunset.
