Great service, great owners, outstanding food - Michelin-5-stars-level; never seen that quality before in a hotel... Worth of each euro spent!

Nice family hotel with huuuuge playground for little kids ♥️

Comfortable and elegant surroundings, combined with lovely friendly staff, a lovely spa and beautiful views. The food is consistently delicious and the bar is reasonably priced. The jewel in the crown of this gorgeous hotel is the children's Hall - a huge play area that can be seen from the restaurant. You won't regret booking your holiday here.

Staying during Christmas 2016, me and my family had a wonderful experience. The hotel offers a great spa area, good sporting facilities and a huge indoor area for children and grown-ups alike. The service is just perfect, the staff is very friendly and proficient! A great place for families with children, but also for couples. Dinner is very good and the hotel offers a nice selection of whines.

Very nice family hotel with a huge playing area for kids starting from 1,5-2 y.o. (who can walk already). Unfortunately almost not possible to walk around with a stroller, therefore 1 star off. Location is fine, but again no place to walk with a stroller outside as well. Free shuttle bus service makes it very easy to get to the ski area. Kids program at the hotel seems to be fun as well (for those who do not ski). Cleaning service in the rooms needs impovements!

We stayed during one week in Novembre 2021. It was perfect in every way. Activities for children from the playground, the swimingpool, to the cinema. Activities also for parents from the spa to the tennis courts and walks in family. Bikes, tennis racket are available among all. Children can be autonomous in the whole hôtel and also for lunch. They met friends for holidays. Food was excellent! Breakfast, various buffets, soups and refined dishes... Sleeping and bed was also good. Finally the personnel was so welcoming, arranging and available! We are so surprised that so much goods points are all met in an only hotel. Parents and children are very happy of their holidays. We also discovered the region and were delighted by the views, snow and landscapes.

Place is perfect (5 stars), but the owner, mr. Zitka, and one of his employees, mr. Peter, are not (0 stars).. they are making fun of their customers and make them feel bad. To be avoided. If the owner changes I will come again.

Our first contact with Familienhotel Sonngastein was back in 2011. We were a family of 4 with 2 kids, 6 and 9 years of age. Little did we know that we would fall in love with every single service that Dr. Zitka provided. We came back 2 more times, in the following years because we couldn't get enough. 9 years later, having seen some more places and with our kids having grown up, 16 and 19 years old, we decided to come back out of nostalgia and at our boys' request. We were yet again stunned by the high quality of the experience as a whole, since this time we could really enjoy them as we didn't have to look after our kids anymore. Back then, as well as now, our boys would spend their evenings in the huge indoor playground, that's packed with features they would never get bored of. From the trampoline and the mini zip line all the way to the fusball, table tennis, darts and 8 ball pool table, they enjoyed every single minute spent there. Regarding the room, this time we chose a 2 story appartment. It was really spatious and very comfy. We can't stress enough how clean the room was when we arrived and also during our stay. Kudos to the cleaning team. The cuisine is high class, with top notch food time and time again. The menu was different from night to night regarding the dinner, and there was a big buffet twice. We were pleasantly surprised that the non-alcoholic drinks were included and the boys loved the chocolate fountain in the Gala Dinner. The waiters were doing their best at all times, smiling and cracking a joke, adding to the experience. Also the live piano music created a classy atmosphere. The spa has many offerings which really satisfied us and helped our boys relax after tiring days of skiing. The fact that they provided free shuttle to the slopes and that we could buy the skipasses from the reception were true delighters. In a nutshell, our best compliments to Dr. Zitka Family, we were pleased once again with our stay, and we are looking forward to coming back! Creola and Cătălin Neagu January 2022 Romania
