★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Busy but efficient hütte, ideally located for lunch on a ski day, being slopeside and close to bottom station of a gondola.
Food good, service good, pricing acceptable.
Pleasant outside terrace to the side.
Previous issues (overcrowded at times) seem to have been addressed with new (for 2019/2020 season) extension out towards piste.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After finishing the heaviest and heartiest meal of our lives, we were approached approximately 6 times within 1 hour by smiling servers, oblivious to our dire post-meal health condition, trying to subtly convince us to purchase and consume yet another over-nourishing dish. It is likely that many medical emergencies have occurred in this establishment in the past given the sheer size, density, fat and cholesterol content of its dishes.
If you are looking to lose weight, immediately exit this review and never set foot in this establishment. One meal in the Enzianhütte is likely to increase your Body mass index by 2-3%.
The Käsespätzle is so rich and creamy that even IHOP goers will be satisfied by the portions. The roasted onions are as crispy as the frozen layer of top snow in the earliest morning hours.
People don’t know how to do decent salads in the whole region which rings true as well in the Enzianhütte where the most creative salad initiative was the mixing of arugula and iceberg lettuce.
The day we visited at the end of sunny March, most customers chose to eat outside in the blazing sun. We wish them well when their cancer sets in. Our recommendation, supported by the WHO, would be the distribution of 1 package of SPF 50+ UVA/UVB protection sun lotion to each customer upon arrival and support in topical application for less-enlightened apres-skiers who might otherwise leave certain areas of the cheeks, nose, neck, and ears exposed.
Outside, one also feels trapped in the hellish Apres Ski commotion where your nostrils have no choice but to inhale, with every breath, the atrocious haze of Jägermeister which is considered the worst alcoholic beverage ever invented by a human.
Inside, the windows let in energizing natural light. We also couldn’t stop looking at the beautiful antique bells hanging from the leather straps adorned in colored fur and sea-shells - we have never encountered such unique cow-oriented adornments.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Interesting interior. nice food, quick and efficient service-although we have eaten there during the off-peak hours. A bit pricey, but still worth it.
They do not take credit cards, as I suppose some other places on the mountain. However they also don’t tell you upfront that it’s cash only.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a lunch here with two kids. Food is ok. Hardly any vegetarian options. Mixed salad was awesome. Staff is friendly and responsive. Service is good overall. Prices are more attractive compare to S4 nearby and portions are larger. In S4 my kids would order one meal each. Here they share one plate and this was enough. Update one year later. All good. Good food. Good quality. Vegetarian options! Awesome!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place for eating a lunch or dinner during skiing. Wiener schnitzel delicious and the Apfelstrudel is just melting in one's mouth.
