Best Campground in austria

T	Toke Raabjerg on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Impolite owner who wasn't hospitable at all. It's sad when you come to such a beautiful place and the first impression you get it that you're not even really welcome. Campground was OK, so was facilities. Very expensive, we payed 34€ for one night 2 adults and a van. Our friends went to get parking for their own van after our stay to see the city, and without noticing the owner charged them for both of us. When our friends told him it was only for them he said that it wasn't his problem and there was nothing he could do. So they payed 15€*2 for 5 hour parking. Unbelievable

It doesn't matter how nice the campsite is the owner should treat the people with respect and not to shout at them and threaten them with police. The campsite can get very crowded . I would go anywhere else than have to deal with this crazy owner again

Showers and toilets always clean, a selection of good beers, chilled, available at the reception (particularly welcome after long hikes). Re the range of comments here about the manager of the place: if your notion of politeness is old-style England, you might feel offended at times. But then, Hallstatt is not England, is it. Our dealings with the manager were always straighforward, and we even received a bottle of wine as a parting gift upon paying compliments to the site.
R	Rudy & Roel on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After reading all the bad reviews we were very certain we wanted to visit this campsite. We liked the akwardness and uncomfortableness some others experienced. Ready for an adventure! The owner of the camping knows how to play the role of the little bit grumpy owner. But on a really cute and adorable way. He is a man with the heart on the right place, but just more introvert then some might expect. He is clear, honest and direct and funny too. We didn’t had any bad experience with him at all, on the contrary we liked him :) The campsite is at a good location. The prices are adjusted to the location and are higher than the average. The facilities are good. The men toilets do smell a bit bad, but are quite clean. The wash machine costs 8 Euro per small bag of max 4kg clothes. The centre of hallstatt is on a walking distance. From the campsite you can start some nice hikes and walking routes through the woods and to the mountains. Hallstatt self is very very touristic and commercialised. But the mountains and the lake are beautiful and there are many restaurants and cafes. We would stay at this campsite again.
P	Petr Mach on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nice narrow camping place. Very friendly owner. All services included. Very close to city center and lake. Ideal location to explore the Hallstatt area by foot or by bike. Wifi avalaible, but only in the very vicinity of the camp office.
S	Sarah Hochstrasser on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We are 2 adults with a campervan, without power. One night costs 43 euro.kinda pricey. The reception in the morning is a lady who is super nice on the phone and helpful. It is not open from 12pm-2pm. The guy in the afternoon at the reception is very bitter. He apparently hated his job very much and what a pity he made this place 2.8 star when it can be 5 star easily. He should be gone to make this place way way nicer I guess. The view is beautiful in Hallstatt. Location here is unbeatable. 1km walk to the town center. Very convenient. There are 2 camping sites here . But another one is also poorly rated and much much far away than this one. So this is the only choice for us. Environment is 5 star. It is perfect and so beautiful. Toilet is big and good. 2 of them have a washing basin and lights and power in. Very good combination of toilet and dressing room. Very spacious.Not so dirty. It is acceptable. Shower is another room. Nice shower with a separate room in it with a wide board where you can put many things on and it’s with shower head you can hold. Spacious and 2-3 shower room for ladies.

Instead was shouted at rudely and threatened to have the cops called on us rather than telling us nicely that it was not allowed. We do not know German and english isnt the best but screaming at us is not the right way
N	Naj Robredillo Christensen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Dont visit This camping Place!!! The owner was so rude which by the Way he makes our 1month vacation tour ruined!! We came to This Place around 12midnight with our campingcar but unfortunately the reception was closed, since we are planning to look around and stay for couple days in the area, so we decide to park out in the campingplace next to the gate and booked When they open.. it was out to thier campingplace since the entrance gate was locked!!! then the next morning, we Saw the tool already closed so we couldnt come out or in then my husband came Down and talk to that oldman and he suddenly start shouting and really really mad talking with nonsense?. All he says that my husband could understand is money money… my husband Got shocked, exhausted, stress and disapointed to what happend, He charge us just to park close to Thier area and not letting us go until we paid More than 40 euro?? I wish i could gave you zero review!!! And i hope that someone could take action with that man with bad behaviour?
