★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Erzbischof Friedrich ließ daher am Dechantshofbühel oberhalb des Ortes eine neue Burg errichten, die als Verwaltungssitz des Pfleggerichts diente. Im Bauernkrieg von 1525 wurde diese Anlage von den Aufständischen niedergebrannt, aber danach wiederaufgebaut. Bei einem schweren Erdbeben wurde sie 1673 schwer beschädigt, so dass ab 1690 eine umfangreiche Sanierung durchgeführt werden musste. Die Burg Taxenbach blieb bis 1768 Sitz des Pflegegerichtes.
Archbishop Friedrich therefore had a new castle built on Dechantshofbühel above the town, which served as the administrative seat of the nursing court. In the Peasants' War of 1525, this facility was burned down by the insurgents, but then rebuilt. It was badly damaged in a severe earthquake in 1673, so that an extensive renovation had to be carried out from 1690 onwards. Taxenbach Castle remained the seat of the nursing court until 1768.
