★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Burg wurde vermutlich um 1100 als Holzburg errichet und es wird angenommen, dass es sich dabei um die Vorgängerburg von Falkenstein handelt. Das Areal der ehemaligen Burg liegt nicht weit von der Ruine Falkenstein entfernt.
Zu sehen ist noch die Stelle, auf der sich ein Vorturm befand und ebenso sind noch Gräben und das Burgplateau vorhanden.
Gegen Westen fällt das Gelände steil ab und am am Kamm des Hügels sind weitere geringfügige Mauerreste zu entdecken, auch das Gelände unterhalb der Ruine ist von teilweise behauenen Steinen bedeckt. Von der Burgstelle aus hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick zur Burg Rannariedl
 The castle was probably built around 1100 as a wooden castle and it is assumed that it is Falkenstein's predecessor. The area of the former castle is not far from the Falkenstein ruins.
You can still see the place where there was a fore tower and there are also ditches and the castle plateau.
Towards the west, the terrain drops steeply and on the crest of the hill there are other small remains of the wall to be discovered, and the area below the ruins is also covered by partially hewn stones. From the castle site you have a wonderful view of Rannariedl Castle
