★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Hoch über der Kleinen Kösselbach-Schlucht, auf einem nach drei Seiten steil abfallenden Felskopf befinden sich die eher bescheidenen Reste der ehemaligen Burg Harchheim, welche auch als Burgstall bezeichnet wird.
Über die Entstehungsgeschichte sind nur spärliche Aufzeichnungen vorhanden. Erwiesen ist jedoch, dass die Burg zu Beginn des 16. Jahrhunderts bereits stark verfallen war und als Baumaterial für den Neubau der St.Pankratiuskirche diente.
Bezeichnete Wanderwege innerhalb dieses Naturschutzgebietes laden zum Genießen und erkunden dieser herrlichen Landschaftskulisse ein , in welcher sich einerseits die Ruine als auch unweit davon, die bestens renovierte St.Pankratius Kapelle befindet.
 The rather modest remains of the former Harchheim Castle, which is also referred to as the castle stable, are located high above the Little Kösselbach Gorge, on a rocky head that slopes steeply on three sides.
There are only sparse records of the history. However, it has been proven that the castle had already decayed considerably at the beginning of the 16th century and was used as building material for the new building of the St. Pancratius Church.
Marked hiking trails within this nature reserve invite you to enjoy and explore this wonderful landscape, in which the ruins as well as the well-renovated St.Pankratius chapel are located.
