★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bis 1297 ließ ihr zweiter bekannter Besitzer, Friedrich von Velben, sie zu einer starken Feste ausbauen. 1544 traf ein Blitz die Anlage, woraufhin ein Teil der Burg zerstört, später aber wiederhergestellt wurde. Nach weitere Bränden und zweifachem Besitzerwechsel erklärte sie Christoph von Küenberg 1620 als abgekommen. Nachdem die Burg 1661 erneut einem starken Brand zum Opfer fiel, überließ man sie dem gänzlichen Verfall.
Until 1297, its second known owner, Friedrich von Velben, had it expanded into a strong festival. In 1544, lightning struck the complex, whereupon part of the castle was destroyed but later restored. After further fires and two changes of ownership, Christoph von Küenberg declared it lost in 1620. After the castle fell victim to another severe fire in 1661, it was left to complete disrepair.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Ruine befindet sich gegenüber der verfallenen Friedburg auf einem weithin sichtbaren Hügel über dem Salzachtal und lassen die noch vorhandenen Reste von Mauern und des Turms auf das einstige stattlich und große Ausmaße der Burg und des Wehrturms schließen.
Erstmals wurde die Burg 1290 urkundlich erwähnt. Im 16 Jahrhundert zerstörte ein Blitzeinschlag Teile der Burg, sie wurde jedoch wiederhergestellt, nach weiteren Bränden und einem Großbrand im Jahre 1661 wurde die Burg dem Verfall überlassen. Von der Ruine aus hat man einen wunderbaren Ausblick auf das Salzachtal und die umliegende Bergwelt.
The ruin is located opposite the dilapidated Friedburg on a hill that can be seen from afar, above the Salzach valley, and the remaining remains of walls and tower suggest the formerly stately and large size of the castle and defense tower.
The castle was first mentioned in 1290. In the 16th century, lightning struck parts of the castle, but it was restored; after further fires and a major fire in 1661, the castle was left to decay. From the ruin you have a wonderful view of the Salzach valley and the surrounding mountains.
