★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Über einen steilen Waldpfad erreichbar und hoch über dem Eingang des Obersulzbachtal und auf einer Steilklippe gelegen, finden sich die spärlichen Überreste der ehemaligen Veste Friedburg. Vermutlich bereits um das Jahr 1.000 wurde die Burg angelegt. Im 16 Jahrhundert wurde die Burg durch Brand zerstört und dem Verfall überlassen. Heute sind lediglich nur noch Reste der Wehrmauern und Teile des Turms vorhanden. Eine Besichtigung lohnt sich allemal, schon alleine des phantastischen Ausblicks, weit hinaus ins Salzachtal und die umgebende Bergwelt wegen.
 Accessible via a steep forest path and high above the entrance to the Obersulzbach valley and on a steep cliff, you will find the scant remains of the former Veste Friedburg. The castle was probably built around the year 1,000. In the 16th century, the castle was destroyed by fire and left to decay. Today there are only remains of the defensive walls and parts of the tower. A visit is always worthwhile, if only because of the fantastic view, far out into the Salzach Valley and the surrounding mountains.
