Hidden and difficult to find as the ruin is not the castle.

Above ground is not much to see, but the two cellar vaults are great !!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Die Burgruine Greifenfels befindet sich auf einer Felskuppe am Nordhang der Sattnitzberge auf dem Gemeindegebiet von Ebenthal in Kärnten in der Nähe der Landeshauptstadt Klagenfurt die Ruine ist eher versteckt im Wald und sehr schwer zu finden von der Ruine sind nur mehr sehr geringe Reste erkennbar Gebäudereste können nur an der Nordostecke rekonstruiert werden die auf eine Küche schließen lassen seit 1704 befindet sich die Ruine im Besitz der Grafen von Goëss aber es lohnt sich schon wegen der sehr guten Luft und den schönen Spaziergang wenn ich Zeit habe bei schönen Wetter suche ich die Ruine sicher wieder einmal auf.
The Greifenfels castle ruin is located on a rocky knoll on the northern slope of the Sattnitzberge in the municipality of Ebenthal in Carinthia near the provincial capital Klagenfurt.The ruin is hidden in the forest and very difficult to find on the northeast corner are being reconstructed which suggest a kitchen since 1704 the ruin has been in the possession of the Counts of Goëss, but it is worthwhile because of the very good air and the nice walk, if I have time in good weather I am sure to look for the ruin again once on.
