★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wer auf der sonnigen Südseite den Hochkönig besteigen will und nicht den schwierigen Königsjodler Klettersteig nehmen will, wird den Weg über das Birgkar wählen. Zwar ist dieser Weg auch nur bei besten Bedingungen, guter Kondition und Trittsicherheit und mit Steinschlaghelm zu empfehlen, wartet aber mit grossartigen Landschaftsbildern auf. Ausgangspunkt ist das Birgkarhaus am Dientner Sattel.
 If you want to climb the Hochkönig on the sunny south side and don't want to take the difficult Königsjodler via ferrata, you should choose the route over the Birgkar. Although this path is only recommended in the best conditions, good physical condition and surefootedness and with a rockfall helmet, it offers great landscapes.
