Must visit. It offers a one page background information in different languages that worth to read and learn the old rituals of skull display. A time to remember and reflect. Silence is required to show respect.

We drove across Austria to see this place after reading about it. While there I learned the full story with the most wonderful person in my life, my wife Susanne. It was a magical time. I will love you always and I’ll remember this trip and the feelings you stirred in me as we explored Austria from here to Hungary. Every moment was like being in a perfect fairy tale with the perfect princess. Thank you with my heart brimming with love for you. It was wonderful to share this with you my dearest Susanne. Always yours with love and gratitude, John The KIRA* * Knight in Rusty Armor.

It's a unique place, very impressive,it is a very small room but worth the 1.5 euro entry ?

Interesting place to visit! The drawings on the skulls look beautiful and well preserved. Definitely something of the better things to view in Hallstatt

We didn't go inside but walked through the cemetery from south to north. After walking through, look for the little path of concrete stairs that double back and up. There is a bench that is perfect for relaxing and taking in the spectacular view.

Hallstat is the most wonderful village I have ever been in Österreich. (Even it was a rainy day) if you have an opportunity you must visit this village, feel the fresh air and the mountains around you.

Fun little hike up the hill to enjoy the vista of Hallstatt lake from atop. Be respectful while there (esp. keep the noise down) as it's still a cemetery after all.

It's right on the cemetery "guarded" by this super nice man who is also selling the tickets (it's 1.5 euro). The inside is small but peaceful and you'll get info about how it was created in your language. I recommend to pay that low fee for entrance, it's worth seeing.
