Very convenient hotel with very friendly staff!

I stayed there for a week. And it was a very good! I want to say big thank's to Manuela and her family!!! They are a very lovely family! The hotel is comfortable and nice. It has a very good location near the center and a bus stop.So my vacation in the Alte Schmiede was very good.Than's to Kossler family!!!!!

Das kleine hotel mit kleine teller. If I just compere with the food you've got from the ski restaurants hytte. I was hoping for better food from a smaller restaurant in town, but I have to say you've get better food for a cheaper price on the ski hills.

We, as a family, have stayed at "Die Alte Schmiede" several times. We have always been treated like family friends - more than customers. The place is run by an Austrian family, who do their best to ensure their customers have a cozy, welcoming, and family-friendly stay. Usually, there is always time for a friendly chat and some joking. Occasionally, service in the restaurant is slow, but that only occurs during peak hours. And the service has never been careless. The food is customary Austrian quisine: ample and something massive, And the Spare Ribs in "Die Alte Schmiede" are second to none. Rooms are robust, spacious, and comfortable. Genuine Austrian style without being flashy, and there are no dust bunnies in the corners. A minor gripe is the small lack of cutlery in kitchen drawers, and - given the excellent atmosphere and service in the restaurant - we could maybe use butter knives more than steak knives, but this issue is trivial. The landlord's arrangement for skis and boots is absolutely fantastic. All boots are dried with hot air every night - it's pure bliss to put on warm and dry boots in the morning. This weighs incredibly heavy on the plus side if you've ever tried putting on half-soggy boots in the morning. Last time we were there, we faced a problem with a thermostat in our room. When we announced it, the fault was rectified within a day. We can expect no better. Another example is when snow chaos at Munich delayed our arrival by 10 hours. We called during the afternoon and informed the establishment of our delay, and the family stood waiting with 3 hot dishes for us when we arrived - long past the restaurant's normal opening hours. We have not experienced this kind of service elsewhere. This year (2012), we celebrated the Christmas holiday there. On December 24, the family visited all guests with incense and good cheer, jolly Christmas greetings and a small Christmas gift. It was a lovely surprise. We felt like part of the family.. Will we come again? A big resounding YES. We have no doubt. Partly because of the prices and partly because of the cordiality and warmth we face from the landlord and -lady. Rarely has a motto have been more appropriate than here: "Wo Die Gaste zu freunde werden" or in english: "Where the guests become friends".

Food was ok. Staff maybe too busy to be friendly. Still, book ahead to be sure to get a table. Portion sizes- no complaints

Great little hotel, easily accessible. It offers great value for money. Parking on site and free of charge. Wi-Fi speeds were impressive! Faster than what you often experience in 5***** hotels. Very attentive staff.

Amazing atmosphere, but HORRIBLE service and kitchen for a relatively high price. I definitely cannot recommend this place.

We were eating their on our holiday. We ordered a burger and got a very raw beef. They didnt offer us any kind of refund, but offered 1 single “snaps”. Very bad customer service, overall a bad place with overpriced food. Cant recommend in any way.
