It was just wonderful with you, very friendly u. nice, food u. Drinks excellent, 5 years ago we had to break off the Karn.Höhenweg because of heavy rain, a week ago it was brought forward again in beautiful weather, it was nice with you. Thank you, the 3 from Turrach, just the laundry kit, I forgot the bag from the sleeping bag.

Not only the soup and the snack were delicious - the nicest thing was the landlady, who despite the "wallet in the car" made us pay by bank transfer. Thanks for the trust - a great stay with you!

I've known this hut since the seventies of the last century (Lol) and always the same landlady (now senior landlady)! I like this hut and this year 2020 we went to this hut 4 times on our holiday in the Lesachtal (5 weeks)! Depending on where you park your car ... 2 1/2 hours, 1 1/2 hours or 1 hour on foot ... the journey by car takes a long time! The path from the car park is easy to walk for 1 hour across the Alm, but the last third to the hut is relatively steep and you should be very steadfast in the meantime! In 2017 there was still a small walking path ... due to the rain etc no more! So watch out when you go up there and you won't regret it! From the hut itself there are various other possibilities to go further!

Very nice house, the climb nice with a lot of views, but not to be underestimated. If you have a higher mounted fan tool you can drive to the parking lot and then only have 1 hour instead of 1.5 hours. Once at the top you can spend the night (Austrian Alpine Association) or continue to climb up to the Carnic High Trail in about 20-30 minutes and / or continue walking, as the Italian border is right there. The view of the mountains is addicting. The food is good, but it also costs something, since everything has to be delivered by cable (no road).

Quaint hut with a casual, passionate landlady! Good food and a brisk humiliation :-) We were able to relax here very well and enjoy the time first class. Thanks for the nice hours!

Dormiamo come sardine, niente coperte opzionali, né cuscino.
I booked for myself and two companions of the Carnic Crossing two months before the overnight stay through the website "Alpenverein.at" as the WhatsApp messages sent to the number indicated on the refuge website (written in German, they are native speakers) a few days before had not obtained no feedback. To confirm I received a laconic email, no additional info. I arrived at the refuge at 6 pm, hurriedly transferred to the dining room, except for the communication that only I would have dinner on half board basis. My two companions, left behind for a hitch, would have had to be content with what was left over. At 7 pm my friends arrive and have dinner, for the modest sum of € 8.00, with an indefinable minestrone (just with what is left over in the kitchen). We discover that recharging the cell / powerbank, taking a shower, drinking drinking water costs. Water contaminated by undefined bacteria comes out of the taps. Could it be a way to monetize? We sleep like sardines, no optional blankets, no pillows. Mandatory time for having breakfast: from 6.30 to 7.30 and no later than. Too bad they then open the dining room at 7.00. Mandatory hours, of course, when convenient. We also discover that the hot water to fill the thermos (outside it is 3 ° C) is subject to a charge, as well as ev. food to take along the way. I specify that my friends paid € 14.00 for breakfast only. Me for half board € 59.00. I will never go back to this refuge, I will stretch up to Calvi, next time.

All great people own a chair at the Hochweißsteinhaus but the legendary 'Blitzkante' traded his chair for the world's best Almdudler that is served at this place!
